I am reluctantly selling my beloved 65 Chevy Impala Caprice due to having no place to store it and lack of funds.

This is the Caprice top of the line hardtop with no posts. The Caprice also has a 327 4bbl, stiffer chassis, and factory a/c.

It was originally sold at Stack Chevrolet in Palm Springs and has remained there until now, where I discovered it had been in storage for the last 25 years. It still has the dealer license plate frame and original black plates

I spent quite some time on it to get it to be a fully running and driving car. The mechanicals seem good as it fires right up , the trans seems to shift well and the brakes are also working well. It can be driven just as it is, or fully restored, but is a good solid survivor. The mileage of 66311 is believed to be original although I can not verify it as of yet.

I have not driven it much since having gone through it so would suggest transporting it to be safe. The items needing attention would be what appears to be a very old repaint which is showing its age, a couple of small dings on the passenger door, and shoddy body work at where the right front fender meets the door. The driver side of the bench seat needs repair as does the top of the rear seat. I installed a new shelf tray behind it. The tires are okay, but are old.

The remainder of the car is in good original condition, including dash, door panels, and headliner. This is a car you can hop in and drive now as is or restore to your desired level. Inspections are welome but must de done before auction close. I have clear title and the car tags are now up to date. Thanks for looking!

Pushing Back: GM expanding Chevrolet into Korea, Daewoo out

Chevrolet Camaro goes to South Korea - Click above for high-res image
General Motors decided several years ago to begin heavily promoting Chevrolet as its global mainstream brand even in markets where its existing brands like Opel and Daewoo were a dominant force. Today, at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, GM Daewoo president Mike Arcamone announced that the Camaro would lead the way in GM's efforts to market Chevrolet in South Korea.
For now at least Chevrolet and Daewoo-branded vehicles will coexist in the Korean market. However, while we were in China last week GM officials told us that the Daewoo brand, which has been somewhat tainted by past quality issues, would eventually be phased out in favor of Chevrolet. When the new Aveo launches next year it will likely be badged as a Chevrolet even though GM Daewoo is in charge of engineering the car.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.

Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.
