You are bidding on my 1971 Nova.  I would describe it as an old school type nostalgic street cruiser.  This Nova is not a recently dolled up beater.  Originally sold in California and has been in Arizona the rest of the time. Dry desert body with all original panels.  The ppg torch r ed paint is 18 yrs old and the sun has taken its toll on the clear.  It has peeling and fading.  The interior has some sun wear also with one crack on dash pad and the rear seat top is fried. Great headliner. Original carpet has some fading also.  The small block is freshly rebuilt right for tons of trouble free miles. 9:5-1 flat top pistons, torque cam grind with a healthy lope at idle but nice low end. Holley 600 on an Edelbrock performer intake. Hei ignition, headers, and some chrome. Hurst shifter and linkage, 8. 5 inch ten bolt with 3:56 gears and a Richmond posi unit.  South side machine traction bars. New pipes and mufflers off of the headers dump at the rear axle.  Has a great sound but not loud. This Nova has front disc brakes and NO power steering. It rides nice and is very reliable running cool in all conditions.  I enjoy driving this classic.  It does not rattle or squeek.  Has a vintage fiberglass cowl induction hood with stock hood hinges without springs. Has ss trim but was a pampered 6 cylinder in its past. I have the original sales invoice and owners manual. Clear Arizona title in my name. Why mess with rust? This car with a little paint would be a show stopper.  It has that old muscle car stance that many love but few achieve. I hate to part with it.  Please ask if you have any questions.  Be a serious bidder please. Thank you for looking.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible gives us a couple of looks

Sat, 02 Mar 2013

Put away your pixel paintbrushes, kids. Pack up your Photoshop. This is the real-deal 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible in its first official images. The droptop Chevrolet will roll into the bright lights of the Palexpo exhibition at next week's Geneva Motor Show, a four-wheeled statement of intent that General Motors is serious about taking its Corvette franchise global.
Chevy isn't providing anything in the way of further details with these two shots, but we've learned at least a couple of things about the car shown here. First off, the example seen in these images is fitted with the optional Z51 Performance Package - something that isn't immediately evident because there's no sign of the coupe model's prominent ductwork on its rear haunches. In order to accommodate the power folding hard tonneau cover, the vents that feed the transmission and differential coolers have been relocated to the underside of the car. The dark paint color on this example also does a good job of muting the contrasting black front fender vents and hood opening - Z51-spec design details that have proven to be somewhat controversial.
One other thing to note: These two shots also display the Stingray wearing different alloy wheels than the split five-spoke design shown at the hardtop's Detroit Auto Show unveiling in January. The simpler, thin five-spoke wheels should do a good job of showing off the Z51's upgraded brakes, and they'll be optional on the coupe as well.
