Before I begin I would encourage all serious buyers to contact me directly at: 517-425-0129. Although this is a 7 day auction I reserve the right to end early. You are bidding on a unique one family owned Chrysler Newport. Well documented survivor, original bill of sale, some neat memorabilia such as; old road maps, trip log from the mid 60's outlining vacations, sights seen, etc. Car came with a homemade emergency kit with a vintage flashlight, whisk broom etc. I’ve included pics. Also note in the pics the original owners wool blanket neatly folded in the rear seat which was used to keep the kids warm on those long road trips. All in all a true low mile survivor car, the last of the classic finned cars, tons of chrome, a very unique piece of motoring history. Description as follows:
Mechanical:
Interior:
Exterior: To summarize, please take the time to review all the pics and don’t hesitate to call with further questions. 517-425-0129. This is a great opportunity to own a part of Chrysler history and while not considered a "main stream" muscle car, part of the appeal to me is the uniqueness of this car and perhaps a little touch of "dare to be different". At the very least, this will probably be the only one like it at the next car show or cruise in and always garners a lot of attention. I also have contact with a reasonable shipping company and would be glad to assist. Vehicle offered by a licensed MI dealer. TERMS; 25% NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 3 DAYS OF AUCTION CLOSE, BALANCE DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OR VEHICLE PICK UP, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. PREFERRED PAYMENT IS BANK TO BANK WIRE TRASFER OR CERTIFIED BANK FUNDS. VEHICLE PURCHAED " AS IS", NO WARRANTIES OR REFUNDS IMPLIED. |

Jeep hiring 1,000 part-time workers in Toledo on Wrangler, Cherokee demand
Wed, 12 Mar 2014The new Jeep Cherokee has been quite a success for Chrysler, but its factory workers are getting tired. The automaker has agreed to hire up to 1,000 part-time, temporary employees at its Toledo Assembly Complex where the CUV and Wrangler are built. It will allow the company to keep Jeep production moving, while giving laborers a break.
According to plant manager Chuck Padden in the Toledo Blade, full-time workers are regularly taking on 60 hours a week, and it's beginning to wear on them. "To get them more time off is important to us, to make sure they're refreshed, and can work safely," said Padden.
Chrysler has already hired 380 temporary, part-time workers for the plant, and 50 have been converted to full-time employees. The company is in the process of interviewing the rest of the new hires now and plans to have all 1,000 in place by the summer. They will work between 10 and 30 hours a week mostly on weekends for $15.78 per hour with limited benefits. The temporary positions will last "as long as demand continues for the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Cherokee," said Jodi Tinson, Chrysler spokesperson for manufacturing and labor communications, to Autoblog in an email.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles: The next five years
Tue, 06 May 2014Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, you've no doubt read about all of the big future product news coming out of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles today. We had individual brand reports from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati and even Ferrari, but in the interest of simplifying and summarizing, we're going to list out the hard facts once more. Of course, with all of this still off in the future, there's still the possibility that a few changes will be made. But as of what we know right now, here's what's coming, and what's going away.

Four-horse race opens up for next Chrysler-Fiat CEO
Mon, 16 Dec 2013
There are some companies that could change leadership overnight and still remain more or less the operations that they are. But some have built themselves up around one central figure. Just ask Carlos Tavares, who found he couldn't escape the long shadow of Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn. Tavares recently left to find his own limelight. But Ghosn isn't the only executive who presides over two disparate automakers on opposite ends of the globe.
Having built up Fiat and Chrysler around himself, we can hardly imagine either automaker getting along without Sergio Marchionne. But the day will come when the famously sweater-clad bigwig will step down. The pressing questions remain when when that day will come, and who will take his place. The only solid clues we have are in the statements made mostly by Marchionne himself, but those statements have been all over the place. When speaking to Automotive News in 2012, he said he would step down "no earlier than 2013, no later than 2015." But a year later, he had already seemingly changed his tune, indicating he could still be at the helm in 2016. Fiat chairman John Elkann seems to think Marchionne, 61, could and should stay on longer.
