You are bidding on a 1966 Dodge Charger, VIN # XP29G61227022, 1 of 9519 built.   This is an all original California car.  The car was moved to New York state eight years ago, but never registered or put on the road.  The car has 110,000 miles, with a engine/transmission/body restoration 1000 miles ago.

Engine is 383 ci, 325 hp, casting # 2468130-5, ID boss # B383 2 9 2, built on Feb 9th, 1966, 2nd motor that day, wedge heads, 10:1 compression ratio, casting # left 2406516-5, right 240516-B, intake valve 2.08 inch, original exhaust 1.60 inch, upgraded to 1.74 inch (440 ci valve), stock cam replaced with Elgin #E943P .443”/.465”, 280/290 degree, 214/224 degree @ .050” lift, 112 degree LSA, Carter 4 barrel carburetor 4133S, first rebuild, cylinders honed with head torque plate to 0.30” over, engine balanced, timing chain upgraded to double roller

Transmission is Torqueflite 727, 3 speed automatic, rebuilt, casting # 2466900 & 2466901

Body is “B” body, premium class, 2 door sports hardtop, assembly plant: Lynch Road MI, scheduled production date March 4th, 1966.  Original paint was monotone pale yellow.  Car has been repainted in the factory metallic silver for that year.  Body is in excellent condition with no rust anywhere.

Interior is premium trim grade, black vinyl bucket seats, air conditioning with heater, radio: AM Music Master / economy 2 watt, power windows.

Miscellaneous new parts:  engine/front lamp wiring harness, washer reservoir, fuel pump, water pump, starter, alternator, fan clutch, P/S pump, battery, A/C condenser, high pressure lines, radiator hoses, plugs, wires, fuel tank/lines/elbows, tires, shocks, window/door seals, carpet kit, trunk mat, trunk medallion, and much, much more.

Miscellaneous rebuilt parts:  heater core (using modern components), front suspension, instrument panel (re-chromed face & instruments rebuilt), re-chromed rear bumper

The interior needs to be re-assembled.  Work was held up because I could not find the four-gang power window switch.  Rebuilt switches are now available online.  The front seats need to be re-upholstered.  Carpet, console, seats, door panels, and dash need final assembly.

Power windows and rotating headlights work good, A/C blows at 46 degrees.  Everything is original, except for a period correct (March 67) aftermarket devise that causes the rear directional and stop lights to operate sequentially (like a 68 Cougar), which is very cool. Send questions first.

2013 Dodge Challenger V6 recalled for fire risk, owners asked not to drive

Sun, 17 Mar 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall for the V6 version of the 2013 Dodge Challenger (as pictured above in 2012MY) over the possibility of a wiring harness that could short circuit and lead to a fire. Owners of these V6 Challengers built from November 2012 through January 2013 are being urged to contact dealers immediately and, in the meantime, not to drive their cars or park in or near any buildings.
Chrysler estimates around 2,500 potentially affected Challengers are in owners' hands, while another 1,900 are still sitting on dealer lots. The total number of recalled vehicles is 4,459.
So far, Chrysler says that seven fires have been reported - none resulting in injuries. The company is instructing vehicle owners to contact their dealer to find out if their vehicle is included in the recall, but owners can also find the build date information of their vehicle by checking the label in the driver's door jamb.

Dodge gives 2015 Viper slight power increase, new GT model

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

With its troubling sales figures, the newly rechristened SRT Dodge Viper needs to come out swinging for 2015. To do that, Dodge has made a number of tweaks and changes that will hopefully carry the V10-powered sports car into more successful days.
First up for 2015 is a new GT model, which aims to marry the reasonable price of the base car with the adjustable suspension and trick stability control program of the GTS model. The GT also sports a cabin that's covered in Alcantara suede and Nappa leather as standard.
Also new for 2015 is the SRT TA 2.0 Special Edition, which expands on last year's Viper TA by adding new aerodynamic bits and bobs, including a larger rear wing, which ups downforce at 150 miles per hour from 278 pounds to 400 pounds.

2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

Including all-wheel-drive models, there are ten versions of the 2015 Dodge Charger. The tenth variant - better described as the ten-tenths variant and the topmost model - is this Charger SRT Hellcat.
Superficially, you already know what it is: take the massively powerful Hellcat engine that's Frankensteined into the Dodge Challenger and stitch it into the recently facelifted Charger sedan.
Oh, but that would be superficial knowledge indeed. Russ Ruedisueli, vehicle line executive and head engineer for SRT, claims the Charger Hellcat is, "The industry's most irreverent four-door supercar." We looked up the word "irreverent" in the Oxford dictionaries, and it turns out the word doesn't mean "707 horsepower," nor "650 pound-feet of torque" nor "3.7-second 0-60 time, and seats five adults." It does mean, "Showing a lack of respect for people or things that are generally taken seriously."
