1966 Dodge Dart Gt Convertible Numbers Matching V8, Most Restoration Done! on 2040-cars

Year:1966 Mileage:97000
Location:

Nashville, Tennessee, United States

Nashville, Tennessee, United States

Original #s matching 273 V8, original #s matching automatic in the console professionally rebuilt ($1,100.), bodywork 90% done, original bucket seats professionally reupholstered ($900), runs and drives great, easy to finish restoration of a real (Not a clone!) rare numbers matching 1966 DART GT V8 Convertible!

Car was originally yellow, now in black primer; see photos of restoration in progress.

This car had factory undercoating and/or rustproofing treatment when new, much of which remains.

This car runs and drives beautifully; the numbers matching 273 V8 purrs beautifully.
The original numbers matching Torqueflite automatic transmission was just rebuilt.
New muffler, new battery, good brakes, shocks, frame, undercarriage, etc.

97,000 actual miles!

Most of the bodywork has been done (over $3,000 spent on body), only minor dents and finishing details remain.
Original seats have been professionally reupholstered ($900). Needs carpet and interior detail work.

Convertible top works good manually, is serviceable, but needs to be replaced to complete the restoration properly.

Tires have good tread, but are older.  I would recommend replacing them before you drive home.  I drive this car locally but would not trust the tires on the Interstates.  Of course, if you're trailering it home, you can replace them later.

I have owned this car for many years.  I simply do not have the money to complete the restoration now.
My loss is your gain!

When the restoration is finished, this car could easily be a $30,000 car at a collector car auction, etc.  Here is an opportunity for someone to finish the job and make a very good profit, or finish it and just enjoy this beautiful rare Mopar!  You could even drive it like it is and restore it gradually while you are driving it!

The title is clear, in my name, so transfer of title is easy and trouble-free.

$500 deposit within 24 hours, balance in 7 days in cash, or verifiable Cashier's Check, or bank-to-bank transfer.

Pick up or Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.   Delivery is available at $1 per mile, within a reasonable distance, if the car is paid for in advance.

Thank you for looking, bidding on and buying my car!  The winning bidder will get quite a nice, rare bargain here!

Dodge Charger Pursuit nets quickest lap in police car test

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

We wouldn't advocate trying to outrun the police, no matter what you're driving and no matter what they are. But if you see a Dodge Charger bearing down on you with blue lights flashing in your rearview mirror, you'd better think twice before attempting to flee, because the Charger Pursuit has once again emerged as the fastest police cruiser out there.
In the latest Police Vehicle Evaluation held by the Michigan State Police at Grattan Raceway, Dodge says its new Charger Pursuit AWD posted a lap time of 1:33.85. That's quicker than any of the other law enforcement vehicles present, but also makes it the quickest all-wheel-drive cruiser available to law-enforcement officials. That may not make it the quickest of all time, but that honor belongs to the rear-drive Dodge Charger Pursuit, which cuts a fraction of a second off its AWD counterpart's time with a 1:33.70. But in regions where the extra traction could come in handy, that's as negligible a difference as we've ever seen.
Of course, the annual PVE sessions held by the Michigan State Police take in to account a wide variety of performance tests, including top speed, acceleration, braking, handling, fuel economy and ergonomics. The MSP has yet to reveal its full findings from its 2014 model year tests, but we'll be sure to bring them to you when they are published.

Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene

Tue, 13 May 2014

Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.

2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad soldiers on in the Chi

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

Introduced to the market in 2008 and updated in 2011, the Dodge Journey crossover has had all the freshness of a retirement village in recent years. Filling a potentially important niche for Dodge as an affordable, family-sized vehicle, the Journey has gotten one last mild refresh here in Chicago. Feast your mild-appearance-package-loving eyes on the 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad.
We can't be sure if the inspiration for the Crossroad appellation was the 2002 blockbuster film, Crossroads, starring Britney Spears, or the 1986 cult-classic, Crossroads, starring Ralph Macchio, but based on the CUV's newfound boyish charm, we're betting on the Karate Kid.
Dark finish 19-inch wheels, platinum chrome accents and a manly new front fascia tell the world that this isn't the Dodge Journey that they've long since forgotten about. In fairness, the Crossroad is easily the best-looking iteration of the Journey to date, and should be better to live with, too, considering its revised cabin, leather seats and standard Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system.
