For Sale, one 1973 Ford Bronco, Sunburst Orange.  Beautiful paint, baja style and cut rear fenders.  Runs absolutely excellent.  Just a great truck and I hate to sell it but son wants to move on.  The truck is a daily driver to and from high school and hockey practice.  Does plenty of high speed, highway miles and no problems.  Most everything on the truck is newly replaced.  It's no fun if your son is breaking down all over town so I've done everything right, to the best of my ability, to make this truck totally dependable.

Soft doors, Wild Horse bikini top and BestTop full soft top, both are in great shape.  Interior has 4 point harness seats. Rear roll bar.  Floor boards are rhino lined and rust free.  Front floor boards were welded over top of old by previous owner, so doesn't look as good underneath.  Instrument cluster works well with exception of amperage which cannot read the electronic ignition.  It read the previous stock ignition fine.  Diamond plating on the dash and center floor boards.  Heater system. New windshield wiper motor.  Headlights are Halo high output.  Headlights, taillights, blinkers and emergency lights all work.  Electrical is solid and I have schematics.  Kenwood KDC-252U Stereo with auxilary cord runs 1000 watt Sony Xplode amplifier and Sony Xplode speakers, 2-10 inches and 2-12 inch subwoofers. This stereo system absolutely thumps, every highschool kid's dream, 80mph on the freeway and loud.  Note the instrument cluster is moved to the center of the dash to make room for the front speakers. So much easier to read than having the cluster on your left. Hurst shifter, 3-speed on the floor.

302ci. engine with approximately 10,000 miles on it, runs smooth.  4bbl Edelbrock carb, new.  Electronic HO ignition, new.  Headman Headers and magnaflow exhaust both new.  Catalytic converters (helps with passing smog test if you need to).  Sounds mean.  New waterpump, new aluminum core radiator.  Runs plenty cold in the desert.  I stayed with the radiator fan blade as it ran cooler than an electric fan.  90/130amp high output alternator to run the HO headlights, stereo and any lights or any lightbars that you want to add.  Recently installed a Wild Horses heavy duty power steering pump (the old ford saginaw pump is piece of junk).  New starter motor. Dual fuel tanks with electic switch tank selector, 21 gal. main and 14 gal. auxiliary (I think).  New tie rods.  New drive shaft.  Brand new Falken Wildpeak all terain 33 inch tires, 33X12.50R15LT, less than 500 miles on them.  3 1/2 inch lift with Rancho 2000 shocks.  Front disc brakes and rear drums are solid as I just replaced the proportioning valve.  Lot's of other little things have been replaced/upgraded.

The only things that I haven't replaced are the transmission, transfer case, axels, etc.  It would be nice to upgrade to a 4-speed or automatic.

Feel free to ask questions.  This has been a great project with my son, we have done most all of the work ourselves including installing the new engine.  I'm not a mechanic but I am honest.

Chris Harris pits Fiesta ST against Mercedes G63 AMG in 0-60 battle... sort of

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

Vehicle performance tests are serious business, with reputations made or broken by things like braking distance, top speed, and lateral g-forces. King of the metrics, though, is the 0-60 run, which for unknown reasons has become the benchmark for what truly makes a car a performance machine.
Now, Chris Harris from Drive has turned the whole idea behind the sprint to 60 on its ear. Taking a new Ford Fiesta ST, Harris asks a simple question: would the ST be quicker to 60 on its own, or on a trailer being towed by a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG?
It's a fair question, really. The Fiesta Harris tested hit 60 in 7.2 seconds on a slightly uphill section of runway. It should be noted that Harris quotes his ST at 182 horsepower, which is about 15 ponies less than what we're getting in the US, so these numbers might not hold up all that well against an American model. The G63 AMG, meanwhile, is a 536-horsepower monster, powered by a twin-turbo V8 that, able to propel the big SUV to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds without towing a Fiesta.

Next-gen Ford Cobra Jet development underway, but will it be a Mustang?

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

Ford might be stepping away from the NHRA, but it isn't abandoning drag racing altogether. Hot Rod says that Ford confirmed a next-gen Cobra Jet factory drag racer is in the works, but the report also speculates that a new Cobra Jet could switch away from the Mustang nameplate.
Even though talk of a new Cobra Jet coincides with the all-new 2015 Mustang, the lack of confirmation for the dragster's platform leaves Hot Rod to guess that the car might switch to another platform - specifically a front-drive-based, unibody car like the Fusion or Taurus. We'd hate to think of a world with a NASCAR-ized dragster from Ford Racing, but it's also highly unlikely that the Mustang Cobra Jet would step away from its quarter-mile rivals like the Chevy COPO Camaro and Dodge Challenger Drag Pak.

Ford Transit Skyliner Concept is a Gulfstream for the road

Sat, 12 Apr 2014

If you are afraid to fly or just want to arrive at your ultimate destination in absolute comfort, then the Ford Transit Skyliner concept might be the perfect vehicle for you. Built by Galpin Auto Sports and based on a 2015 Transit, the van is basically a private jet on wheels. It even has a touch of Transformers about it with the ability to switch between four modes by pressing a button in a smartphone app.
Based on the long wheelbase, high-roof model with 487 cubic feet of cargo space and 6 feet, 9.5 inches of interior height, the Skyliner has movable captains chairs that shift around among four modes. In theater mode, the seats turn and recline to face a 52-inch retractable movie screen with 7.2 surround sound. For business, a motorized table unfolds, and the chairs gather around it. There is a mode for tailgating where the door opens four-feet wide, and, when traveling, passengers can recline back with footrests that extend for maximum comfort.
To make the ride even plusher, there is a satellite and media server to meet your entertainment needs, and there is even a built-in bar in the back. If this Ford had a bathroom, you could live in it. Of course, you would need to hire a driver to enjoy all the amenities in the back.
