1964 Ford F100 very original truck. The truck has a great patina and is super straight for being 50 years old. This truck was purchased in 1970 by the second owner and has been in the family ever since.
THE GOOD: This truck is probably the straightest most original truck I have ever seen. There is no rust to speak of aside from the small amount in the bed. Tires have some age on them but are still good, newer battery replaced last year. Great running engine and all the mechanicals operate fine. Doors work like new. I have all interior parts as well as a box of extra parts that includes new brake shoes, extra rebuildable holly single barrel carb, original air cleaner, and other misc parts. The truck doesn't leak or burn any oil, there may be a couple drops after letting it sit for a month or more but nothing substantial. The 223 inline six just purrs and trans shifts fine through all gears. The truck runs and drives fine but takes some getting used to not having power brakes or power steering. I have a clean clear title for it.
THE NOT SO GOOD: The truck is 50 years old and showing some age. Very straight body aside from the few dents found around the truck. It isn't like a modern car, it drives like a 50 year old truck. The truck is missing inside door handles, the passenger side window has come off its track (simple fix just needs to be put back on). There is a small crack in the windshield (probably 6-8 inches long) but doesn't affect anything. Interior is in what I would call usable condition. The seat cover has come off so it has been replaced with a blanket. Otherwise it isn't in bad condition. Dash is alright and floor has been coated to protect it.

Buyer is responsible for pickup but I will help load or make arrangements.

Ford celebrating 80 years of Aussie utes as it prepares to shutter Oz manufacturing

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

Ford is ending Australian production after 90 years in 2016, and with it may go perhaps the most iconic vehicles in its auto market - the ute. Car-based pickup trucks like the Ford Ranchero and Chevrolet El Camino were always more of a curiosity than a true market force here, but in Australia, they have long proven hugely popular.
As the legend goes, Ford invented the niche after a farmer's wife had asked Ford Australia's managing director for a more utilitarian car. Her request was simple: "My husband and I can't afford a car and a truck but we need a car to go to church on Sunday and a truck to take the pigs to market on Monday. Can you help?"
Ford's design team came up with a two-passenger, enclosed, steel coupe body with glass windows and a steel-paneled, wooden-frame load area in the rear. The sides of the bed were blended into the body to make it look more unified, and to keep costs down, the front end and interior were based on the Ford Model 40 five-window coupe. Power came from a V8 with shifting chores handled by a three-speed manual. Within a year, the new vehicle was ready, and production began in 1934. Lead designer Lewis Bandt christened it the coupe-utility.

Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively. Watch Tanner Foust hustle the Fiesta ST 'round the 'Ring

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

The last time we saw Tanner Foust at the Nürburgring he was sloshing an SVT Raptor from kerb to kerb. Sticking with Ford but swapping keys, this time the drift champion and Top Gear USA host goes to the opposite end of the manufacturer's tuner garage and plucks a Fiesta ST for 'Ring duty.
The 179-horsepower front-wheel-driver acquits itself well by the end of the video. But be warned, Foust doesn't set a 'Ring time and it's shot like a commercial... because that's what it is. Still, you can enjoy all two minutes and 31 seconds of it below.
