1968 Ford F100 Flareside (Stepside), runs, drives, and stops like it should.  This is not a show truck but a great daily driver.  I have a clear Tennessee Title.  Has a 6 cylinder 240 engine with a 3 speed transmission.  The truck has recently been painted the original color of Skyview Blue.  Whoever did the painting and body work did a very good job, but I don’t think it was done by a professional.  The glass is all good except for a couple of stone chips and a small scratch.  I have not found any serious rust.  Tires are good, all the lights and turn signals work, AM/FM radio works, the gauges seem to be accurate, the seat is in good condition, and the horn works.  The interior needs to be painted and restored.  Could use new rubber.

I received almost a 1/2 gallon of the Skyview Blue paint that will go with the truck.  I found a tailgate that will go with the truck.  You can see by the picture that it needs work.  Also included in the sale are Volume’s 1, 2, and 3 of the Shop Manuals, Body Assembly Manual, Wiring Diagram, and the original Owner’s Manual.

This truck is in great shape for its age.  There is No Warranty expressed or implied.  The millage has rolled over and is unknown. The truck is sold as is, and it is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to cancel early.  Shipping arrangements and payment is the buyer’s responsibility.  I will assist in loading.  $500 Paypal non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of sale, with the remaining balance due within 7 days via cash or bank check.  Check must clear before pick up.

The truck is located in eastern Tennessee.  You are more than welcome to come and inspect the truck before making a reasonable offer.

Thank You

Ford Australia pulls the ol' talking car prank

Mon, 07 Apr 2014

Siri from Apple has proven that being able to talk to your technology doesn't always work perfectly. But what if it could eventually go far enough to give a personality to inanimate objects like our cars? Ford took just this path to comedic effect by playing a prank on many unsuspecting Australians, in a new commercial for its EcoSport compact crossover.
The Aussies seem very nonchalant about having a random parked car talk to them, and they seem surprisingly game when it asks them to get in, call a celebrity and tell a joke. (We're guessing there are some hilarious outtakes, too.) Scroll down to watch some folks from Down Under have a conversation with Ford's CUV.

2013 Ford Mustang V6

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Secretary Trim, Evolved
There was a time not so long ago when opting for a base Ford Mustang meant getting little more than some sheetmetal, an anemic four-cylinder engine and what may very well have been the world's most disappointing automatic transmission. During the Fox Body years, Ford seemed hell-bent on living up to Carroll Shelby's derogatory description of the coupe as little more than a runabout for demure office assistants, and the result was a base model with fewer sporting intentions than a Dilbert day calendar.
Some 20 years later, hopping behind the wheel of an entry-level pony is an entirely different experience. With all of the menacing aesthetics of the brawnier GT, a well-equipped interior and a drivetrain that toes the line between efficiency and power better than few before it, the 2013 Ford Mustang V6 is an attractive option for buyers in the big coupe market. But is it attractive enough to forgo the beastly GT?

Court puts kibosh on apartheid lawsuit against Ford, Daimler

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Ford and Daimler have scored a major victory in a long-running lawsuit filed in US federal court by unnamed South African nationals. The suit alleges that both manufacturers and their subsidiaries sold their vehicles to the South African military, despite knowing that they'd be involved in violently putting down anti-apartheid protesters.
According to Reuters, South African plaintiffs filed the case under the 223-year-old Alien Torts Statute, a law which allows foreign nationals to file charges in US courts for perceived breaches of what was originally international law, but now more closely relates to violations of human rights.
And while the case - which also involves computer manufacturer IBM - has been tied up in federal courts for years, a recent case from the Supreme Court struck down a similar suit against Royal Dutch Petroleum (Shell), arguing that the ATS doesn't apply to corporations or to conduct if it occurred outside the US. In short, the law applies to individuals, but not corporations like Ford or Daimler. A US appeals court ruled that the conditions apply in this case, potentially drawing this long-running saga to a close, as the defendants will now be allowed to request that the case be dismissed in district court.
