There is no reserve and bidding begins at NADA wholesale of $32,000 - Lariat Chrome Package - 4X4 - One owner with ALL options, even Sony Nav, backup camera, 40GB  hard drive juke-box, and heated & air conditioned seats!

Offered for sale is my 2010 Ford F-150 4WD Supercrew Lariat Pickup Truck with 33,600 miles. I purchased this truck brand new and it has always been driven by me or my wife and has been babied since new. It looks, runs, and drives as new. I park it in the garage and I keep it clean. The truck has never been smoked in, nor have there been any animals in it. There has never been any accident or damage involving the truck.

This truck is equipped with the 5.4L EFI V8 FFV engine and the six-speed automatic transmission. The truck is Red Candy Metallic with black leather captain's chairs up front & black leather bench seat in the back which can fold up for huge cargo space. The front seats are both heated and air-conditioned (awesome in the summer). It has the 3.55 radio limited-slip rear axle and P275-55-20 polished wheels with Pirelli Scorpion tires (at least 40% tread remaining). This truck has the Lariat Chrome package with the special grill, chrome step bars, and power-heated chrome mirrors with the turn signal indicators built in. It has the off-road skid plates, a power moonroof, and it has the Lariat Plus Package which includes the garage door opener, the rearview backup camera, and the reverse sensing system.
The Sony Stereo includes the GPS/Nav, and the subwoofer. The truck has the tailgate step and the heavy-duty trailering package with the built in electronic brake controller. I had Line X bedliner sprayed into the bed when the truck was new.

NADA retail is $36,550. Opening bid is $32,000 and there is no reserve.  You will not be disappointed in any way! My name is Scott and I can be reached at 478-397-0060. Please call to discuss if you are interested.

National Geographic Channel balances Ford F-150 on four coffee mugs

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Proving that there is still something to be learned on television these days, National Geographic Channel recently introduced a new series called Duck Quacks Don't Echo. On the first episode of this science/comedy show, host Michael Ian Black proposes the idea that a truck can be supported with a ceramic coffee mug under each wheel - yes, he says that the entire weight of a truck can be balanced on just four coffee mugs.
Looking to find out whether this is fact or myth, the show uses a regular cab Ford F-150, weighing in at 4,800 pounds, and four average coffee mugs. Lowered onto the mugs, the idea is quickly put to the test. Can the cups hold up under 4,800 pounds? If so, what, exactly, would it take to break them? Scroll down below to find out.

This 2,000-hp Mustang is in serious need of wheelie bars

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

The Ford Mustang on the right is drag racing with the standard technique. The Mustang on the left, driven by David Measell, is using a new "rear bumper only" technique that evidently surprised everyone at the South Georgia Motorsports Park strip - including Measell.
Measell said his outfit just bought the car the week before the event, noting that it has more than 2,000 horsepower. Speaking of his "flying" run, Measell said, "We turned it up to dip on down," by which he meant they turned up the power in order to get his time down. Turns out all that power and all that traction sent the nose straight up into the air almost as soon as the race began.
He told an interviewer afterward that this was his first race in a "regular car" since he normally drives a pro-mod. "I like my wheelie bars," he concluded. You can see how he got there in the video below.

BMW to follow Honda back into F1?

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

The economic downturn wrought devastating effects on motor racing. Formula One alone lost half its engine suppliers when Honda left at the end of the 2008 season, and both BMW and Toyota followed at the end of 2009. But things are looking up again. Cosworth may have dropped out this season, reducing the engine suppliers to three: Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes, the latter of which admits that it may have left had the engine formula not changed. But Mercedes has stayed and is dominating the championship. Honda is coming back next season. And word around the paddock is it may not be the only one.
According to Giancarlo Minardi - founder of the team now known as Scuderia Toro Rosso - BMW engineers have been conspicuously spotted lately at F1 test sessions and grands prix, lending to speculation that the new engine regulations may entice the Bavarian automaker back into the series. According to Minardi, BMW's marketing division is pushing for the automaker's return to F1, with the board slated to make a decision in May. BMW would be more likely to consider an engine-supply deal rather than taking a team over like it had with Sauber, but with which team or teams it might collaborate remains a big question mark at this point.
As if that's not enough, Ford is said to be considering taking over Cosworth's aborted V6 turbo engine program to take both outfits back into the sport as well. Cosworth supplied F1 engines under the Ford banner for years, but returned under its own name for four seasons from 2010 through 2013 before shuttering its program to develop an engine to meet the new regulations adopted this season.
