Moss, Tennessee, United States

Bought this truck in Dallas TX at an auto insurance auction site. I then had it shipped to me in TN. It had mainly front left damage to the headlight, fender, door, bumper and hood. Only damage the frame received was a bent bumper bracket. The truck was sold in the "Run and Drive" category at the auction. It still has the original radiator and condensor. AC was still operational. Airbags did not deploy. Hood had a little damage on the front left corner and some dings in other areas. It has been repaired and primed. The driver door had damage along the edge that joins the fender and some dings/dents. It has been repaired and primed. Front left fender is aftermarket and is CAPA certified and primed. Front bumper assembly and upper pad are both CAPA certified parts. The lower valance is a Foose Edition Urethane air dam. Headlights are OEM Platinum edition. There is a scuff/dent on the bedside in front of the right rear wheel as shown in the photos. Also a few small dings along the bottom of the passenger door and passenger side of bed. Tailgate has some minor scratches and dings. Wheels are 18" and the chrome is chipping some on the inside of the wheels. Outer part or face of wheels are good. Tires have a little tread but need replaced. Truck has a very clean gray cloth interior with no stains. Driver seat has 2 or 3 very small burns that are probably the result of a spark from a cigarette. CD player works great. The bed liner is in good shape and the power windows, mirrors, and cruise control all work as they should. Truck runs great and is driven daily so miles will go up. I am located about 90 miles northeast of Nashville TN near the TN/KY border. If you need more info please call or text 931-644-2394. Leave message if no answer and I will call you back.

Ford Focus Electric and ST recalled over lighting issue

Mon, 12 Aug 2013

Ford is recalling 6,308 units of the 2012 and 2013 Focus Electric and 2013 Focus ST that were fitted with HID headlights because a "wiring incompatibility" could keep the front side marker lights from working. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall should begin in the middle of this month, after which owners can take their cars to dealers to have the wiring assembly repaired free of charge.
You can find more information in the NHTSA bulletin posted below.

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.

Ford cleans up painting process with cameras

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Knowing how the bacon gets made rarely entices us and, in the same vein, the same usually goes for knowing about how new cars get painted. But in both instances, however, quality - or a lack thereof - is instantly obvious. In terms of the latter, Ford is showing off its new paint quality process with 3D Dirt Detection Technology to find imperfections in vehicle paint more easily and more quickly.
This process - being performed on the F-150 SVT Raptor above - uses 16 computer-controlled cameras to create a three-dimensional model (inset) of the vehicle to detect flaws in the paint including dirt particles, which can then be buffed out manually. Ford says this new technology cuts down on time spent looking for paint flaws and gives workers more time to correct those that are discovered.
Currently, Ford only uses its 3D Dirt Detection Technology system at three factories (the Dearborn, MI facility, along with those in Louisville, Kentucky and Valencia, Spain), but it will soon spread to five more plants in North America. Ford has released a video and press release for this innovative and unexpectedly interesting process, both of which are posted below.
