Selling my 1956 Ford fairlane straight axle gasser. I got this car from back east. It had most the lettering and suspension on it when I got it. This is not your "show car" pretty gasser that you see at the high dollar car shows, this is the real deal.
The front suspension is early ford style "buggie leaf" the split wishbone and new super glide spring. Speedway motors Chevy front disc brake kit. Rear suspension is coil overs with a Watts link with 61 Chevy truck ladder bars, braced for strength all connected to a rebuilt ford 9 inch, big bearing, 4:11 with full spool. Custom drive shaft with two safety hoops. New brakes in rear.
Motor is a 1964 413 Chrysler big block with 727 transmission. The 413 is completely rebuilt. Crank turned, six pack rods, bored .030, 516 heads with bigger valves, gasket matched ports, chevy insert stem seals, Mopar purple cam solid flat tappet and matching valve springs. Adjustable roller rockers, fabricated valve covers, 8 quart oil pan, high volume oil pump, gear drive, Hand made tunnel ram intake with dual early style carter AFBs and custom air box to deliver that sinister look, mini starter. Transmission has trans go "race" shift kit with b&m Shifter, 3200 stall converter. New aluminum radiator, stays at 180 in all conditions. Motor is recessed about 8 inches, raised and leaned back with solid mounts.

Steering box is a 1957 ford box that was moved back and lowered to make the early ford style cross steer. 3/4 inch rod was used as the column with two u joints and held in place with two heim  joints. the steering is perfect and goes down the road perfectly straight and is easy to turn. 40s chevy steering wheel was adapted to column
Interior is tradition race style. Tach, oil pressure and water temp are the only gauges you need! Turned aluminum dash. High back bucket seats and driver seat has race harness. B&M shifter sits on top the trans tunnel and shifts into all gears perfectly. All floors are made of new metal with beads rolled in them for structure. All aluminum floor pieces are removable for easy access to transmission and rear of motor. Track legal Full roll cage. Lexan front window, made of four pieces to reduce vibration, and quarter windows all screwed in. Back window is original glass. Front clip is welded together and made to pivot forward to gain more access to the motor. Held down with hitch pins and brake hold down springs and latches at the top.
Decklid completely removable held down in same fashion as hood. Gas tank is mounted in back of trunk with filler coming up through package tray. Electric fuel pump and big fuel filter mounted off roll cage in trunk. battery with external shut off also located in trunk. Rust around body gives it that perfect patina look, but is in spots that don't jeopardize the structural integrity of the car. Louvered decklid.
This gasser runs and drives perfectly stays cool and hauls ass. Recently took it to march meets in Bakersfield California and was one of the most popular cars there, and going to be featured in Hot Rod Deluxe magazine. I do not have a title for it but I can assist in anyway to get one I just don't have the time to sit at the dmv. The vin number is clear all that needs to be done is a vin verification and take that piece of paper to dmv. All the lights work, only the necessities, and custom switch panel made next to the driver seat to control fuel pump, ignition and lights.

If you have any questions or would like to come see the car in person feel free to call or text. 8058019541 Scott

Ford to show special edition Raptor on April 9

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

There are precious few details, but what we do know is that Ford will be revealing images of "appearance upgrades" for a special-edition 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor on April 9. The slideshow will happen during a Motor Press Guild luncheon at Ford's Design Center Showroom in Irvine, California.
Without photos or further details, we're left to wonder about the extent of these changes, but aren't expecting anything too significant given the venue. Ford is understood to be revealing a next-generation F-150 with a big weight loss - as much as 700 pounds - for 2014, though it isn't yet clear if that's the truck's model year or simply its on-sale year. For at least a couple of years, Ford forums have been suggesting changes will come with the 2014 Raptor, so there could still be a bigger surprise in store. Either way, we'll know what all this means in a little more than a week. The press release below has the official details, but for the moment, we'll content ourselves by ogling the 2013 model above.

Jaguar design boss admits X-Type was a mistake

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

History has a way of repeating itself, especially in the auto industry. When Jaguar was owned by Ford, the British brand attempted to field a competitor for the BMW 3 Series, called the X-Type. Based on the bones of a Ford Mondeo, it aped the styling of Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ, while borrowing liberally from the Ford parts bin. That was 2001.
Now, in 2013, Jaguar is planning a new 3 Series challenger based on the platform previewed by the C-X17 Concept, while Ford is attempting to take the latest Mondeo upmarket. The moves have both brands recognizing where, why, and how the X-Type failed. "It didn't look mature or powerful or anything. It was just a car," Jaguar's current head of advanced design, Julian Thomson, told PistonHeads. Basing the X-Type on a front-drive car while giving it styling that was meant for a rear-driver lead to proportions that "were plainly wrong," Thomson told PH. Ford's European head of quality, Gunnar Herrmann, added that the X-Type was "a fake Jaguar, because every piece I touch is Ford."
For what it's worth, the X-Type's successor in the segment will sport rear-drive, with plenty of input from Ian Callum. Thomson described the new model, which would challenge the 3 Series as having, "Big wheels right to the ends of the car, low bonnet, short overhangs, very low cabins." Sounds good to us.

Ford Everest Concept shows China also has an affinity for big trucks

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

The Ford Everest Concept SUV at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show shows the future of the Blue Oval's truck line in China. While a concept for now, we're told that JMC, Ford's Chinese joint-venture partner, will build a production version sometime in the near future.
With design from Ford's Asia Pacific design team, the handsome seven-passenger SUV shows off some very muscular styling with wraparound headlights that hook into the contours of the angular trapezoidal grille. The beltline rises up the body in the rear and makes the back appear higher than the front. The rear is made from hard, chiseled contours that give the truck a very tough look. The Everest looks ready for some rough roads.
Ford is keeping the interior and mechanical details about the Everest a secret for now, but the SUV is rumored to share some components with the overseas Ranger pickup. The company has no plans to sell the truck in North America. Scroll down to read the official announcement, including the few details on its production.
