1994 Honda Civic Del Sol - Fun to Drive, I4 1.6L engine, 5 speed manual transmission, aluminum alloy wheels, 185/60R14 Tires.  Built in Suzuka, Japan, seriual number 7270 or 21,075 built that year.  It has 146,047 miles on it.

This is a project car for the buyer.  Although drivable, the seller recommends you bring a trailer to take it home.  The tires are aged, weather checked, and cracking in some places.  The wheels are scratched up. The front bumper piece was brush painted by the previous owner.  Remainder of exterior paint in very good shiny condition. The exhaust system needs work or replaced.  The brakes are squissy, though functional.  The trim around the winshield was not replaced by the previous owner, so it is filled with window putty.  The radio is not original and does not fit well.  The antenna is missing. Very little rust, although some present.  the interior is aged, but only on rip in the drivers seat.  One door opens from the inside, the other door opens from the outside.  The battery is less than two years old.

I have owned it for three years, and driven it very few miles.

Honda's first production jet takes off from North Carolina

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Plenty of automakers have backgrounds in aircraft manufacturing. BMW, Bristol, Mitsubishi, Saab and Spyker all started out in the airplane business. But Honda is going the opposite direction, expanding its automotive (not to mention motorcycle, ATV, marine engine and power equipment) business with the launch of the HondaJet. And that project has just taken a big step forward.
After starting production a year and a half ago, the Japanese industrial giant recently completed its first customer HondaJet, and has now taken that initial production aircraft to the skies for its landmark first flight. The aircraft left the production facility in Greensboro and took off on Friday morning from Piedmont Triad International Airport in North Carolina - the same state where the Wright Brothers undertook their first flight over a century ago.
The HondaJet undertook an 84-minute test flight, climbing to 15,500 feet and reaching a speed of 348 knots. That works out to 400 miles per hour - assuredly faster than any Honda (save for maybe a prototype for the same aircraft) has traveled before. The aircraft is designed to cruise at a maximum of 420 knots (483 mph) and reach a maximum altitude of 43,000 feet.

Honda Super Cub first vehicle to receive 3D trademark in Japan

Tue, 03 Jun 2014

The term "iconic" gets thrown around a lot, but if there was ever a design worthy of the honorific, surely it's the Honda Super Cub. That's not just our opinion, though: it's the official word from the Japanese Patent Office, which has recognized the classic scooter's shape with a three-dimensional trademark.
The category was introduced in Japan back in 1997 to immortalize distinctive designs, and is subject to very strict criteria. In fact, this marks the first time it has been applied to a vehicle - and one of the few industrial products to be awarded the recognition.
Little wonder it was applied to this little wonder, too. With over 87 million units made since its introduction in 1958, Honda claims the Super Cub to be "the world's largest selling vehicle," with production taking place at 15 factories in 14 countries and sales in 160 markets around the world.

Honda MC-? prototype

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

Honda is less an automaker, it has been said, and more of a motor company that builds vehicles into which to put its engines. That sort of perspective goes a long way towards explaining the mind-boggling diversity of the company's product lineup. The Japanese industrial giant makes lawnmowers, marine engines, robots... even jet aircraft. It's also one of only a handful of companies that makes both cars and motorbikes. We recently had the chance to sample something that falls in between.
It's called MC-β - shorthand for Micro Commuter Beta, which already tells you it's Honda's second stab at the formula. The first Micro Commuter prototype was announced a year prior and, though marginally larger, struck us as a more complete product than its successor. But it'll likely still be a while before the formula is perfected and put into production, and even then it isn't likely to find its way any time soon to Honda's American showrooms - whether those showrooms are selling cars, bikes or ride-on mowers.
