1961 Jeep Cj5 Universal F-head 4 Cyl on 2040-cars
Townshend, Vermont, United States
We are pleased to offer this Willys on consignment. eBay allowed no section for no title. There is NO TITLE but is legally owned and can be sold with a bill-of-sale. 1961 Willys CJ5 Jeep, pretty much original as far as we can tell. Seller is either 2nd or 3rd owner. The starter is off as it needs rebuilding & is included. Medical issues require this sale and owner can not finish the project. I am told that before it was parked last year it ran fine. Nearly new tires and new soft-top. The top, which was purchased through a local Jeep specialty dealer,.is no longer in the box but it has never been put on the Jeep. The pictures show some rot started on the passenger side floor. A rust spot can also be seen on the front fender. They seem to not be extensive and reasonably repairable. Vacuum wiper on drivers side and hand wiper on passenger side. Original front seats and also has a rear seat. The metal entry step should be welded or removed. We will communicate with owner with any questions you may have. SOLD AS-IS with absolutely no guarantee or warranty whatsoever. Interested parties may inspect this Jeep prior to auction-end or elect to have someone else review it. We have described as best we can but will take no responsibility whatsoever. If you need additional pictures please contact us and we will do our best. Please note our 100% feedback. Thanks for viewing |

Why Mopar won't release a factory lift kit for the new Jeep Cherokee
Thu, 24 Apr 2014The Jeep Cherokee Dakar concept showed off at the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari made a lot of online friends, even the Cherokee naysayers assenting that there's a monster Jeep underneath the Cherokee's skin if you're willing to go in and get it. But after reading Road & Track's write-up of what went into creating the Dakar, particularly its lift, you'll understand why you'll probably never see the components for it in the Jeep Performance Parts catalog.
The concept's press release mentions a "prototype Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, and additional suspension modifications." The short-story explanation is that the front struts on the standard Cherokee weren't engineered to accept any amount of lift, so the long story begins with the phrase, "an entirely new suspension." Head over to RT to read the details, and don't be afraid to ogle the Cherokee Dakar gallery and another awesome Jeep fancy that won't likely crawl over the hurdles imposed by production reality.
Chrysler accelerates Jeep recall repairs from 2018 to March
Thu, 17 Jul 2014
You may remember that Jeep's unusual fix for this recall involves fitting a trailer hitch.
The recall of about 1.5 million models of the 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty and 1993-1998 Grand Cherokee over fuel tanks may finish far sooner than originally estimated. In a new filing from Jeep's parent, Chrysler Group, with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the company says that it can complete the repairs for the affected vehicles by March 2015, much sooner than the previous estimate of sometime in 2018. Jeep predicts the total cost of the campaign will be around $151 million.
Happy 50th birthday, Jeep Wagoneer
Thu, 02 May 2013
The Wagoneer got the SUV on the radar of buyers looking for something capable, comfortable and rugged.
The Jeep Wagoneer was introduced 50 years ago, and it's that vehicle we have to thank for the herds of excellent crossovers and SUVs that make up our current automotive landscape. On a personal level, I have always loved the full-size Jeeps and their crisp Brooks Stevens styling, which aged well over their long tenure on the market. The SJs, as they're known among enthusiasts, were the Wagoneer and its two-door counterpart, the original Cherokee. The Wagoneers had become true luxury vehicles by the end of their run, which stretched form late 1962 as a '63 model all the way to 1991, when they were offered exclusively under the Grand Wagoneer nameplate.
