Jeep Cj7 1976 Amc 304 V8 4x4 Original Hardtop, Southern, Runs Good, Lights Work on 2040-cars
Rock Island, Illinois, United States
I have 1976 Jeep Cj7 for sale. I bought this vehicle while stationed in
Alabama, and by the lack of rust I believe it spent all of it's life in
the South. The Jeep is almost completely original with the AMC 304 V8
under the hood attached to the original three speed transmission as
well. Blinkers and brake lights work. In the pics you will see the
original air filter and most of the EGR system in tact. The gentleman I
bought it from was a helicopter mechanic and did an excellent job
replacing the floor boards, this Jeep is solid. If you're looking for
an old Cj with minimal body work this one is for you. The engine runs
strong. Some of the discrepancies. I would replace the front fenders
which are readily available, looks like someone stood on them at one
time, rear view mirror is missing, the side running lights are missing
but easily rewired. If you look at the pics you will see original paint
under the hood and inside as well, along with the original seats. Here
is a Jeep you can put on the road today and make improvements while you
enjoy driving in it. And if you're like me you'll appreciate the
original hard top as well, especially with our winters. If you have any
questions please send me a message and I will respond. Thanks
for looking.

mentioned very little rust. Where is the rust and how bad is it? Is
there any way you can send pics of the rust spots? Thanks, Keith |

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT
Mon, 25 Feb 2013Jeep's Super 'Ute Is Fun Thrown In The Face Of Conventional Wisdom
Let's talk asses for a moment. What do they have to do with the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, you ask?
Well, we're here to tell you that this SRT can haul some. Lots of them, as a matter of fact: Jeep has increased the towing capacity of its most powerful SUV to 7,200 pounds. Assuming the average donkey weighs about 400 pounds, the Grand Cherokee SRT can haul ass to the tune of 18 burros, give or take a covered trailer or so, which is significantly more than it could in previous years. In 2013, the machine could manage 5,000 pounds, while the first generation was rated at just 3,500. The increase is mostly attributable to a new eight-speed automatic transmission and beefier rear axle, and it's a welcome update for those who'd like to use their SUV as, well, an SUV with an emphasis on utility.
Happy 50th birthday, Jeep Wagoneer
Thu, 02 May 2013
The Wagoneer got the SUV on the radar of buyers looking for something capable, comfortable and rugged.
The Jeep Wagoneer was introduced 50 years ago, and it's that vehicle we have to thank for the herds of excellent crossovers and SUVs that make up our current automotive landscape. On a personal level, I have always loved the full-size Jeeps and their crisp Brooks Stevens styling, which aged well over their long tenure on the market. The SJs, as they're known among enthusiasts, were the Wagoneer and its two-door counterpart, the original Cherokee. The Wagoneers had become true luxury vehicles by the end of their run, which stretched form late 1962 as a '63 model all the way to 1991, when they were offered exclusively under the Grand Wagoneer nameplate.
Chrysler recalling 630k Jeep models worldwide
Thu, 06 Jun 2013Despite its refusal to recall 2.7 million Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models this week over a gas tank fire risk, Chrysler will be recalling 630,000 Jeep Compass (pictured), Patriot and Wrangler vehicles around the globe for a pair of entirely different reasons.
The affected Compass and Patriot models are all from the 2010 to 2012 model years - 254,000 in the United States, 45,400 in Canada and 109,000 elsewhere in the world. In these models, a software error may result in the late deployment of the side airbags and seatbelt tensioners. In the event of a crash, failure of these systems could result in more serious injuries for the vehicle's occupants.
Jeep's go-anywhere Wrangler also faces a separate recall due to power steering fluid lines that can possibly wear a hole in the transmission oil cooler line. According to Chrysler, the vehicles could then leak fluid, possibly damaging the transmissions. Roughly 221,100 Wrangler models are being recalled because of this issue, all of which are fitted with Jeep's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. In the US, 181,000 vehicles are affected, with an additional 18,400 in Canada and 21,700 additional units worldwide. A Chrysler spokesperson said that no crashes or injuries have been reported with either case, according to the Associated Press.
