I'm selling my 2005 Kia Sportage EX 2.7L V6 SUV for $5,500. It's in really GREAT condition with 131,302 miles on it. I am the first and only owner. You will not find a better value for $5,500! Although that can seem like a lot of miles, let me tell you why it's not. Then look below for specs.

 1) There are three main repairs that need to be done around the 100,000 mile mark. ALL THREE HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE SEPTEMBER 2013! The first is the timing belt ($700), the 2nd is the catalytic converter ($1,100), and the third is the front struts ($600). All repairs were with genuine Kia parts. The car is mechanically good to go for another 100,000 miles before another round of major repairs!

2) I just had the car professionally detailed YESTERDAY so it is looking brand new. There are no stains or tears on any cloth and no dents or damage to the body!

Now for some car specs:      She takes regular unleaded gas, gets 21 mpg, has all-wheel drive, 4 speed automatic transmission with tiptronic (you can manually shift gears too) has a 2.7L V6 engine with 178 ft.-lbs. torque @ 4000 rpm, 173 horsepower, reclining rear seats that also split and fold completely, roof rack, power everything, heated mirrors, 6 speakers for great surround sound, alloy wheels, a lift gate door and window that open separately, rear windshield wiper, 4 wheel ABS (anti-locking breaking system), child seat anchors, leather trim inside, premium cloth seats, cruise control, super safe 5 star safety rating, and 4.5 star consumer rating.

Ask me for more details or go to Edmunds, a trusted car site

Start your new year off with a really sweet ride for an amazing price. .

2014 Kia Sorento garners five-star NHTSA rating

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

The 2014 Kia Sorento has just earned a five-start crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, as well as a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
According to Kia, the new Sorento scored well in both frontal and side-impact crash tests, while also netting high marks in rollover testing. Orth Hedrick, Kia's American director of product planning said, "Already a compelling entry in the compact CUV category, earning a five-Star rating from NHTSA makes the Sorento an even stronger contender within its segment while underscoring Kia's overall commitment to delivering safety and exceptional value to our customers."
The Sorento joins the Sportage within the Kia range, and the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, Mazda CX-5 and Subaru Forester in netting a five-star score in the small, CUV segment. Take a look below for the official press release from Kia.

Hyundai and Kia set aside $412 million for false mileage claims

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

We still don't know how the whole fuel economy ratings debacle is going to play out for Hyundai and Kia, but both automakers are preparing to make good on their promises to reimburse vehicle owners for lower-than-promised mileage figures. According to Automotive News, Hyundai and Kia have set aside a combined total of $412 million ($225 million for Hyundai and $187 million for Kia) as compensation, which will be sent out on a case-by-case basis via debit cards depending on the vehicle and the mileage driven.
Announced back in November, the exaggerated miles per gallon claims affect around 900,000 Kia and Hyundai products produced for the 2011 through 2013 model years sold in the US and Canada. This whole deal has had plenty of action ranging from suspected whistleblowing from a rival US automaker and even insider trading, but it has probably been most frustrating for vehicle owners who, in most cases, saw their vehicles' city and highway ratings drop between one and three digits.

Big Changes Below, But Just A Little Off The Top
It happens all the time. Three or four years into an automobile's lifecycle, the manufacturer goes back to the drawing board, making what it hopes are vital improvements to keep its product at the top of the sales charts. It's true of the vehicle we're discussing today, the 2014 Kia Sorento, but unlike many midlife facelifts, most of what's new here can't be seen with the naked eye.
Yes, there are the normal changes to the front and rear fascias, and a few nips and tucks here and there to improve the crossover's outward appearance. But, for the first time in as long as we can remember, the big news here is that the new Sorento is actually riding atop a new platform, according to Kia.
