Pennant Motors is pleased to present this absolutely amazing and unspeakably rare 2003 Lexus IS300 SportCross. The IS300 has long been regarded as a go-to car among enthusiasts for incredible handling and performance. With its inline 6 cylinder VVT-i engine, along with rear wheel drive, these cars are incredible drivers cars. Very few smaller cars have this configuration. On top of that, this is the ultra-rare sportcross wagon version. Hardly any of these were imported to North America, and very few were distributed worldwide! On to of that, this sportcross is nearly completely optioned. It has the voice navigation system, heated full leather interior, traction control, and chrome wheels. On top of all of this, this car originated in California, and only came to the East Coast just last year. It has spent nearly its entire life in the Los Angeles area.

The interior of this car is spectacular.    The  black full leather  interior is in beautiful condition and is trimmed with contrasting piping for an added sense of sport and luxury The dash and carpets are also in very nice condition. It has automatic climate controls which functions fine. The AC works well and the compressor engages properly. The condition overall is just remarkable. It does have the premium Lexus audio system with in-dash CD changer. This stereo system is fantastic, and the sportcross even expands upon the sedan's audio system by adding two additional cargo area speakers, along with a subwoofer. This IS300 also have the somewhat rare navigation system which functions just fine. The directional knob for the controls is missing, however you can still operate them just fine without the knob. It's also important to note the very unique chronograph style gauges. In my opinion, they are the most creative and attractive gauges ever fitted to any car.

The outside of this IS300 SportCross is beautiful and is finished in very rare and desirable "Intensa Blue" color. This is a somewhat bright medium blue color which really stands out. It is also accented by stock chrome covered alloy wheels which provide an excellent contrast with the blue color. Generally, I'm not a fan of chrome wheels, but I think they look great on this car. It is important to note that the chrome wheels have some minor corrosion along the inside of them, but it is not very noticeable, and not bad since this car has spent most of its life on the west coast. This is one of those cases, where I feel that the wagon version of this car actually looks quite a bit better than the sedan.  The car has a very balanced look to it, and the lines of the wagon are much more flowing.  The car is in exceptionally nice condition for any miles. The exterior is in great condition overall, but it does have some scratches, most notably a series of scratches on the drivers and rear drivers side door. The are minor enough that it was difficult for me to get them to show up in pictures, but they are most certainly there. There are also some minor door dings, but very few. This IS300 also has xenon gas-discharge headlamps, along with a power moonroof and limited slip differential.

This IS300 drives just wonderfully. The engine sounds amazing and is incredibly smooth. The transmission shifts perfectly. I was so impressed with how well this car drives, and I just love the sound of inline 6 cylinder engines. The ride is smooth, and the car is very, very comfortable while being very tight and sporty feeling. It's cars like this that really show Lexus' engineering and construction superiority. This is a great car for a long distance road-trip, or a dash to the grocery! It's important to note that the timing belt service has been completed by Lexus Santa Monica in Santa Monica, California. We also have several service records for this car. They will be passed along to the purchaser.

We recognize that this is a very large purchase for you, and it may be difficult to swallow making a purchase long-distance like this.  You're welcome to give us a call, and we'll do a step-by-step complete walk-around of the car to help you familiarize yourself with it.

This car includes a 3 Month 5000 Mile powertrain warranty at no additional charge. The warranty can be used at any repair shop in the United States, no matter where you live. This warranty covers the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. This is in place in order to provide peace of mind when purchasing a car via the internet. Additionally, this warranty can be adjusted to cover nearly every component on the car, and can be extended up to four years and unlimited mileage. Contact us for details on this affordable upgrade in coverage.

In many cases, it is more efficient and economical to have your car shipped to your home or office. There are various options. We have a shipping broker with whom we work that is one of the best in the business, and takes care of every aspect of the shipping process. Additionally, if you're looking for a more economical option, you can get a quote at www.uship.com. If you'd prefer to pick up your new car in person, we offer complimentary shuttle service from the Erie International Airport (ERI), as well as the Erie Pennsylvania Amtrak, Greyhound, and Megabus stations.

Purchasing a car online can definitely allow you, our customer, to get a fantastic deal on exactly the car for which you've been looking. This method is one of the best thigns to happen in the history of the used car business, because you are no longer limited to the small selection of cars offered by your local car dealerships. With affordable shipping to anywhere in the world, it is now easier than ever to find exactly the car you want at a price you like.

Since you're bidding, or making an offer, on a car which you may have not seen in person, it is important that a level of trust be established between you, our customer, and us, the dealership. This is why we post between 30 and 60 high-resolution images of every car we sell on ebay. We pride ourselves in having the most detailed, highest resolution images on ebay, and we use the finest photography equipment in order to catch even the smallest details of the cars that we sell. In addition, the description above provides a comprehensive walk-around of the car including the interior, exterior, and mechanical systems. We even will fill you in on any previous maintenance that we've performed. Regardless, all cars that we sell have been thoroughly checked for safety by our in-house master technician. In addition, we road-test every car we sell very extensively before offering it. If there are any issues with the car that are present, they will be mentioned in the auction. Because we road test the cars extensively, it is possible that the car may have more miles on it than when the auction was listed. We always encourage you to come check out the car in person before bidding or making an offer. If you are too far away to do this, there are several inspection services that can review the car, or we can take the car to a local garage of your choice for a pre-purchase inspection.

Please note that a $250 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction.  This deposit can be made by contacting us directly and can be paid by credit or debit card over the phone. This allows us to speak with you person-to-person which allows us to fill you in on the process and fine details of the transaction, as well as lets you know that we are real people who are committed to making the process of purchasing your new car as easy and painless as possible. Buying a car should be fun and exciting, not a chore. The balance is due within 7 days via Certified Check, Money Order, or bank wire transfer.  We can also accept credit cards and personal checks for full payment with prior authorization. Simply contact us before bidding or making your offer to let us know that you plan on paying with one of these methods so that we can let you know about additional terms that apply.

Non-paying buyers wil be reported to ebay.  We charge a $255 dealer services fee for all transactions. This fee covers any additional paperwork service, overnighting of paperwork, and dealer prep.  We can provide a temporary cardboard plate for out of state customers at no charge. Pennsylvania residents will need to pay sales tax between 6% and 7% depending upon your county of residence. There are also Pennsylvania fees for the registration, title, and license plate (unless you bring your own plate to transfer).

Inexpensive used cars are not at all the same as a brand new car, or certified pre-owned vehicle.  They are in no way flawless, or perfect. As noted above, we try our absolute best to disclose any issues which may be present on the car, however a car's condition is somewhat subjective and opinion based. Where door ding may be considered perfectly acceptable on a 10 year old car, it would never be acceptible on a car which is brand new.  Also, on higher-mileage used cars, it is important to remember that virtually any mechanical or non-mechanical component can fail at any time.  We cannot predict what components will fail in the future, or when they will fail.  This is simply the nature of older higher mileage used vehicles.  The best that we can do is assure that the car is operating properly at the time of purchase. This car is sold as-is, and we cannot be held responsible for any mechanical or non-mechanical failure.  Additionally, because we do not know the inspection requirements of other states, we cannot guarantee that this vehicle will pass any out-of-state inspections.

Toyota profits up 23% on high US sales, despite mounting legal costs

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Toyota earned $9.3 billion in net income in the financial year that ends next month. The number beats earlier forecasts and marks a five-year high for the automaker, with both operating income and revenue up by 9.5 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively. Toyota saw quarterly profit enjoy a year-on-year jump of 23.4 percent, with the manufacturer earning more than $1 billion between October and December 2012. The good news comes in spite of the fact that the Japanese automaker actually endured an operating loss in North America, due in part to legal fees.
Toyota is set to pay more than $1 billion to owners who claim their vehicles decreased in value as a result of the company's recent spate of recalls. Even so, all three of the automaker's brands enjoyed a 13.5 percent sales increase in the US in the last quarter, beating the industry average. Toyota faltered in Europe, however, where it earned $99 million in operating profit last year, compared to $111 million in 2011. You can take a closer look at the company's full press release below for more information.

2014 Lexus CT 200h gains familial hourglass figure

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

Following reports from last week that a refreshed Lexus CT 200h would arrive in dealers for the 2014 model year, we've gotten our first glimpse of what said refresh entails, and well, at first glance, it's not much. Lexus has fitted its familial spindle-style grille and a new set of headlamps to the hybridized hatchback.
Out back, the CT 200h has gotten a set of slightly slimmer taillights, while the F-Sport model shown here sports a revised rear bumper, with what looks like a subtle diffuser and some vertical vents. All told, the exterior refinements are nice, if not subtle, additions to the five-door hatchback.
It's unclear if anything has changed inside the CT 200h, although we'd expect a similarly light refreshening in line with what's been done outside. As for the hybrid powertrain, we wouldn't expect a wholesale change in that department - at least until the next-generation CT arrives around 2016.

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.
