This car is Amazing!
This 1966 Lincoln Continental has been brought back to life, Professionally.
The car sat for 20 years in a storage unit, the owners son would start it once a month, I was lucky to find it and get te car back to its original specifications:
Engine:
The 462 makes NO noise, The exhaust manifolds on both sides are whisper quite.
What we did to the car:
New radiator and expansion tank
New water pump, new Timing set, and had the power steering pump rebuilt. New fuel pump and fule pump rod. The carb was rebuilt and all new belts. The AC has a new pump and blows ICE cold
The Transmission was completely rebuildt... Shifts smooth
The suspension: New upper and lower ball Joints, New controll arm bushings; Center Link and new shocks.
The rear shocks and new tires all around.
Interior: Nothing was done but a cleaning. notice the Red leather seat, with power seats that work. The dash pad has no cracks..usually near the front speaker there is a crack... not on this car.
The AM/FM Town and Country radio was rebuilt. It seeks, goes to AM and Fm with no issues at all, and the sound is very good. The original owner has an 8 track player ( dealer installed) with 4 speakers. the 8 Track is NOT working, instead, under the seat is an amp so you can plug in your I pod and listen to your favorite music. The original sisze speakers were installed, nothing cut up to add big speakers
Turn the key and within a millisecond, the car comes to life. Doing 80 MPH, feels like your not moving, quite and comfort is what this lincoln is all about.
Options on this car:
AM/FM Town & country radio (Works perfect)
Power vent windows ( work, along with all the other windows)
Cruise Control ( it lights up, but does NOT work)
AC..is Ice cold
Power Unlock trunk works
All lights work perfect
Paint. We did have it repainted, all chrome and stainless was removed, the car was a Light blue, we went with Black.
The front Bumper has some small dents,so the bumper was sent out, all dents removed and re chromed

Huge JFK auction includes two classic Lincolns
Wed, 09 Oct 2013Want to own a piece of American history? Perhaps you should consider 35th President John F. Kennedy's limousine, a stretched 1960 Lincoln Continental, or the last car he safely rode in before his assassination, a 1963 Lincoln Continental convertible. Both of them will be up for sale at the Camelot: Fifty Years after Dallas auction on October 24, a JFK 50th anniversary auction in Boston.
The black 1960 Continental was part of the presidential motorcade and is bulletproof. The body has been restored to the tune of about $35,000, according to RR Auctions, but the interior was left alone. That's okay, because the winning bidder will be able to enjoy lounging in the well-preserved seats and stepping on the original tan carpeting, just as President Kennedy did. The next owner can even play President, with a divider window, passenger air controls and a two-way telephone - if a chauffeur is hired, of course. The starting bid for the Continental is $25,000.
The other car is more historically relevant (but in this writer's eye, less beautiful), and commands a starting bid of $50,000. The white, convertible 1963 Continental was the last car President Kennedy rode in before his assassination in Dallas - with a notarized document by the car's owner at the time as proof. It was used to transport the President, his wife, Jacqeuline, and Texas governor John Connally "from a breakfast and speech at the Texas Hotel ballroom through the streets of Fort Worth to Carswell Air Force Base, where they boarded a short flight to Dallas on the morning of November 22, 1963," according to RR Auctions. Lincoln specialist Baker Restoration in Connecticut restored the car, which included an engine replacement, body work and paint. Most of the interior, including the seats, are in original condition.
Lincoln MKC crossover headed for Detroit
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Fresh off the launch of the stylish new MKZ sedan, the newly named Lincoln Motor Company is reportedly preparing for a lineup expansion. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, the first new product joining the Lincoln brand is a small crossover based on the Ford Escape said to be called the MKC. We saw this machine testing a few months ago, and while we were hoping the name might be reserved for a future two-door model or even the diminutive Concept C hatchback, it looks like the "C" will stand for compact crossover instead.
The report also says that this crossover will be making its debut next month at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, so we'll have to wait until then to see what the new model looks like. Unlike the MKX, which is based off the Ford Edge, we would expect there to be a lot more differentiation between the MKC and the Escape like Ford managed to do with the newest Fusion and MKZ.
In addition to the new MKC, the article states new MKS and Navigator designs are expected to debut by 2014.
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
