1984 Lotus Turbo Esprit For Autocross Race Parts on 2040-cars
Pittsford, New York, United States
This auction is for a 1984 Lotus Esprit and comes with no registration or title. I purchased this as a parts car for the rebuild that I am doing on another Lotus Esprit. This is a rolling chassis with all the suspension parts, shifter, some shifter linkage, steering rack, a steering column (not assembled in the car). The steering column lock assembly works but is damaged (see pic). There is no ignition switch or key. There is no wire harnesses, no HVAC system. What you see in the pictures is what is for sale. I have some other G series parts that I will be listing separately and are not included in this auction. Contact me for info on these It would make a great starting package to make a light autocross race car. Or purchase this as a replacement frame and suspension for your current lotus car. There appeared to be an engine fire. You can see that the passenger side tank area and inner fender wall has been damaged. The outside fender wall appears to just have surface blisters. The body has hair line paint and/or gel coat cracking throughout This is sold as is, where is. The buyer will need to pick this up within 2 weeks of the end of the auction. E-Bay did not allow me to list this auction by selecting No Title/No Registration. So I selected the Rebuilt, Rebuildable & Reconstructed. To repeat, there is no paperwork that comes with this car, as there is no registration or title |

Lotus rolls out factory delivery program for Elise, Exige and Evora
Thu, 16 Oct 2014
"We are delighted to open our doors to customers so that they can collect their new car from us direct." - Jean-Marc Gales
Buying a Lotus sports car now comes with an added perk - you get a peek behind the curtain at the famous factory in Hethel, England.
Lotus could build production versions of Renault Alpine, Infiniti Emerg-E
Tue, 14 Aug 2012As with one of those blockbuster three-team NBA trades that actually improves the fortunes of every team involved, a report in Autocar indicates that Renault, Infiniti and Lotus are in talks that could benefit both manufacturers and enthusiasts. Renault is considering a production version of the devil-in-blue Alpine A110-50 concept but has said that it "probably needs more than the Renault-Nissan Alliance on its own." Enter Lotus, whose Evora platform could supply the running bits for the mid-engined Alpine revival.
That same Evora platform, in range-extended 414E concept form, is the basis for the Infiniti Emerg-E concept. Even though a decision hasn't been made on the Emerg-E's production, it is still being developed and the company has admitted that it "could be built in Britain." For its part, Lotus has said that it's ahead of schedule on the Evora 414E, with its 408 horsepower, 738 pound-feet of torque and 30-mile electric range. Development funds from both Renault and Infiniti could help make all three cars a closer possibility.
Lotus hiring 100 after securing lb100m investment
Fri, 02 Aug 2013Lotus is getting a shot in the arm courtesy of corporate parent DRB-Hicom, which has announced a 100-million pound ($152.3M USD at today's rates) investment in the Hethel, UK-based manufacturer. The troubled brand was also in the news last week, with DRB announcing a new, three-year plan that would see variants of existing models introduced.
The money will create 100 new jobs in Hethel, with 45 new engineers, 40 manufacturing operatives and 18 university grads joining the team. Lotus has already seen an uptick in sales this year, according to a Norfolk-based news site, with 40 to 45 cars being produced per week and 722 road cars and 45 race cars sold between January and May. Even sales in the UK have seen a big jump - Lotus only moved 70 units in 2012, but it's already sold 80 cars in the first half of 2013.
Better yet, Lotus is citing an increased demand for its cars around the globe as the motive behind the new hires. While still quite uncertain, Lotus looks like it might finally be on the right track.
