1975 Mercedes-benz 280 on 2040-cars

I have for sale a good and solid 1975 Mercedes 280. It has the dual over head cam inline 6 cylinder motor with an automatic transmission. This car looks great for its age inside and out. The good: New Tires. New Vacuum Pump Diaphragm. Oil Change. Spark Plugs. Spark Plug Wires. Good Paint. Solid Floor Pans. Solid Rockers. Interior has minimal wear. This car has many great things going for it considering its age. The NOT so bad. Drivers side front fender got bent slightly due to the tire grabbing it. (My Fault) Could use a carburetor rebuild. It works fine but I am unsure when it was rebuilt last. Gauges work but are sporadic and inaccurate. All indicator lights work. Climate control works and the cables are not broken but they need lube to wok properly and to get heat in the vehicle. Blower fan switch was bypassed to a toggle switch but can easily be switched back. The car is only being sold because I desperately need a 4x4. Trade are always a possibility. looking for something small. The car is good for around town after purchase but a long trip to come get it I recommend a trailer. I just drove it 3.5 hours with no trouble but I haven't been all over the car like I would like to so I just want the buyer to be prepared and understand the car should have no problems but JUST in case. World Car Of The Year down to its final four

Judges for the World Car of the Year Award have narrowed down the finalists to just four vehicles. Out of a total of 42 entries, only the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT-86 and Volkswagen Golf remain standing. For Volkswagen, this marks the second consecutive year the company has had an entry among the finalists, and the fourth time since 2009. In order to qualify, a vehicle must be on sale on two continents during the span of time between January 1, 2013 and May 30, 2013. A panel of 66 journalists from 23 countries then vote on the finalists.
Three vehicles have made the cut for the last round of voting on the 2013 World Performance Car as well, with the Cayman/Boxster and FR-S/BRZ/GT-86 running against the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Meanwhile, the Renault Zoe, Tesla Model S and Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid are duking it out for the World Green Car Award. Finally, the World Car Design of the Year Award is up for grabs between the Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar F-Type, and the Mazda6. Check out the full press release below. 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA order guide leaked
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The dealer order guide for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA has made its way online courtesy of the crew at CLAForums.com, and not only does it shed light on the ways buyers will be able to configure the entry-level sedan, it talks specific option pricing. Shoppers will be able to select between the CLA250 and CLA250 4Matic, and the option sheet should offer a number of packages to suit buyer tastes, including a sport package with tweaked fascias and unique wheels. Bi-xenon headlamps and 18-inch alloys may also be had as well as a panoramic sunroof and a collision avoidance system. The CLA will be available with a number of active safety systems on board, including lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, park assist and blind spot assist, to name a few.
The new sedan comes in 10 colors, including a very dashing purple Mecedes-Benz calls Northern Lights Violet, and there are a total of four interior trim finishes. The automaker hasn't released final pricing of all models just as of yet - we do know from Mercedes' Kate Upton Super Bowl ad that the car will start at $29,900 - but you can check out individual option and package pricing in the gallery. 2014 Mercedes SL and SLK add small expansion to Takata airbag recall
Fri, 11 Jul 2014Mercedes-Benz is the latest automaker to be affected by Takata's massive airbag recall. The company has announced a voluntary recall campaign on a small number of model-year 2014 SLK- and SL-Class roadsters.
In Mercedes' case, 300 vehicles are affected, 200 of which are in the hands of customers. According to spokesperson Donna Boland, the affected roadsters were built between March and April of this year.
The issue, which is apparently the fault of one of Takata's subcontractors, rests with some improperly installed fasteners, which could keep the airbag from performing the way it's supposed to. According to Boland, Mercedes isn't sure what, if any, injuries the recalled airbags could cause, but simply claims there's an increased risk in these particular vehicles. There's been no reported instances of the faulty airbags deploying on a customer and the original issue was found in a production test.
