I have decided to sell my car as I am purchasing a real eliminator and cannot store two cars. It is a great driver quality car that I have done alot of work to and stands out everywhere you go and gets lots of attention. Originally a 351 auto M code car. The engine is a 302 crate motor and is around 5 years old, and the paint job is about 10 years old. I am unsure of the exact mileage but I would say less than 10,000. The paint is not perfect but certainly looks nice and has no major flaws. The chrome/body trim is nice, but has some pitting but for a driver it is fine. Car is very solid with little rust, one blister on passenger door and one on trunk lid nothing major. The car is very reliable and can be driven anywhere. It has slotted front rotors and power disc brakes up front (new.) Has brand new ceramic coated headers and mild flowmaster exhaust. The car had a c4 automatic transmission when I purchased the car, but just this summer swapped a 4 speed close ratio manual transmission into the car. If desired I will include the c4 automatic transmission and parts with the sale. During the 4 speed swap I installed a Mcleod shatterproof bellhousing, Mcleod flywheel, brand new Mcleod Pro ceramic/organic clutch (up to 500hp) brand new mini starter, new throwout bearing and pilot bearing. Has a Edelbrock performer intake and 600CFM carb. Engine is stout for a 302 runs and starts perfectly, it isnt a 11 second car but it does pretty good for a 302 especially with the 4 speed. We installed a hurst shifter with brand new linkage during the transmission install. I purchased the 4 speed transmission from a gentleman who rebuilt it 2 years ago and used it in his drag car. Internally the transmission looks great but the third gear synchro is a little worn causing a slight grind going into third gear, but it does not effect the function. Painted the rear leaf springs, rear end housing, ladder bars, driveshaft, transmission, and bellhousing so the underside of the car really looks great in gloss black. The car has a actual eliminator hood scoop and rear spoiler. The interior looks great on this car as I have put some work into it. Just this year I put new vinyl on the steering wheel and wrapped it with a very nice leather wrap, new burl wood console insert, new visor chrome/hardware, new sill plates, new seat latch levers, chrome visor hardware. I hate to sell the car because it is a very nice car, but someone else will truly get the chance to drive it and enjoy it as much as I have. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs
Mon, 11 Mar 2013It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.
Ford Recalling 70k Escape and Mariner Hybrids for cooling issue
Fri, 12 Sep 2014Ford is recalling about 70,209 examples of the 2005-2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and the 2006-2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid because the cooling pumps for their hybrid systems could fail.
According to the company's defect notice, it's possible for the original "Motor Electronics Coolant (MEC) Pump" to wear out and fail, which would could cause the hybrid system to overheat. If this happens, the vehicle goes into a safety mode that takes away most or all of its power. However, braking and steering still operate normally. After cooling down, the affected models restart normally. The company says that it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
Ford will begin repairing the vehicles in late October, and dealers will be installing improved, brushless pumps on the affected models at no charge to owners. If drivers had their pumps fail before this recall, they can contact Ford for a possible reimbursement. Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line
Wed, 05 Jan 2011The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.
