1985 Pontiac Fiero Gt Coupe 2-door 2.8l on 2040-cars

Year:1985 Mileage:7000
Location:

Lee's Summit, Missouri, United States

Lee's Summit, Missouri, United States

SCORPION custom fiberglass body on a 1985 Pontiac Fiero GT Chassis.  Meticulously built to perfection with all lights (interior and exterior), gages, windows, A/C, mirrors, locks, horn, wipers, work as designed.  There were no shortcuts and it shows.  If you want attention, fun, and excitement, then this is for you.  Chances are you will never see another one.

The engine and transmission were completely rebuilt and have less than 7000 miles - no smoke, no leaks.  A new clutch assembly was included when the rebuilt engine and transmission were installed.  In addition, a new fuel pump, new brakes all around, a complete parking brake assembly, new tires and alignment, new exhaust system, new fuel filter, air filter, and oil filter were replaced within the last 50 miles.  New spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor were also installed.  The engine remains a 2.8L V6 in stock form as does the 4-speed manual transmission.  The chassis is completely stock Pontiac Fiero.  Although this car will not need any immediate repairs or servicing, keep in mind it is a GM car using standard GM parts and will not cost a fortune to service like the exotic imports.  Car easily passed the Missouri state inspection and can be driven anywhere anytime.

As a plus, the 30 page body installation instructions with body component part numbers is included along with pictures of this car during assembly.  These body components are readily available in case of damage.

Most Importantly, the proceeds from the sale of this automobile go to the DREAM FACTORY through whom the Kansas City Fiero Owners Group is sponsoring a three year old cancer patient/survivor in order to make her dream come true.  Your consideration for the purchase of the Scorpion is sincerely appreciated.  The buyer will experience more attention with this car than can ever be imagined as most people do not recognize it and cannot believe it is a Fiero.  Some have likened it to a Ferrari or Lamborghini and think it is a $100,000.00 car but it can be yours for a fraction of that.  Questions?  816-590-3685 or e-mail through eBay.

Again, thank you for your interest and consideration and happy bidding - you will not be disappointed.  This vehicle is available for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.  The buyer is responsible for shipping.  Funds must clear my bank prior to shipping or delivery.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
