YOU ARE LOOKING AT ONE OF THE NICEST 1970 GTO THAT I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME!!!! MY FATHER BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER BACK IN 1991. THE ORIGINAL OWNER WAS IN THE MILITARY AND WAS STATIONED IN NEW YORK. HE ORDERED THE CAR THERE. BEFORE THE CAR CAME IN HE WAS SENT TO TEXAS. WHEN THE CAR CAME IN HE FLEW TO NEW YORK AND TOOK DELIVERY. HE DROVE IT BACK TO TEXAS WHERE IT SPENT ALL OF ITS LIFE UNTIL 1991. HE RETIRED FROM THE MILITARY AND SETTLED IN ATLANTA GEORGIA. MY FATHER BOUGHT THE CAR FROM HIM IN GEORGIA IN 1991. HE BROUGHT THE CAR HOME AND HAD IT STRIPPED TO BARE METAL AND COMPLETELY RE-DONE. THIS WAS A FRAME ON RESTORATION. HE JUST COMPLETELY CLEANED AND PAINTED THE BOTTOM SIDE. THE CAR LOOKED VERY GOOD BUT MY FATHER IS PRETTY METICULOUS. THIS CAR RETAINS EVERY ORIGINAL PANEL THAT CAME ON THE CAR. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO PATCHES AND NO PANEL REPLACEMENT. THIS CAR HAS MATCHING NUMBERS THROUGHOUT EXCEPT FOR THE 400 TURBO TRANS. IT WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT THE DEALER.  I HAVE EVERY PIECE OF DOCUMENTATION FROM THE START. I HAVE THE SALES ORDER, THE INVOICE, THE PROTECTO-PLATE, THE BUILD SHEET, AND WARRANTY INFO AND OWNERS MANUAL. THE CAR WAS RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL COLORS. THIS IS A VERY LOW OPTION CAR. NO POWER BRAKES. 4 WHEEL DRUM, NO A/C, IT DID NOT EVEN HAVE POWER STEERING, MY FATHER ADDED THE POWER STEERING. HE ALSO ADDED THE HOOD TACH.  THIS CAR IS NEW IN EVERY WAY!!!! IT HAS BEEN RESTORED SINCE 1995. IT STILL LOOKS, RUNS, AND DRIVES LIKE NEW. IT HAS ONLY HAD 5,000 MILES PUT ON IT SINCE 1995. I HAVE TRIED TO GIVE A FAIR AND ACCURATE DESCRIPTION ON A VERY NICE AND ORIGINAL GTO CONVERTIBLE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CAR THAT HAS NO RUST AND HAS NEVER HAD ANY RUST WITH ALL MATCHING NUMBERS AND ALL THE CORRECT PAPERWORK THEN THIS IS THE ONE!!!IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL 614-402-4199 OR E-MAIL. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AND HAPPY BIDDING!!!!

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.
