Nice desert 64 GTO rolling shell, pictures tell it all, I purchased this with a group of cars, it has a data plate, no vin!.....Use this shell how you want, parts, rebody....it will be sold with a bill of sale off the data plate. Floors are as nice as we have seen, as well as the trunk floor. The drivers A pillar cover has been replaced, as well as the drivers door skin, and, full quarter on the drivers side....this looks like an old repair, all original GM sheet metal was used. Hinge post, rocker, and, inner structure all look very nice on that side. Car was partially stripped to metal and sat, it has surface rust, however, it was in the Mojave desert for 40 years.....what you see on the car is all you get, with the exception of the current frame under it...it will have another frame for it....call for details or questions...
Cars options were: GTO, floor shift, tach, single speed wipers, tinted glass (all), black interior, reading lamp for a dome lite, push button radio w/ reverb (still in package tray), aqua marina turquois, no vinyl top!.....We looked diligently for the vin and hopefully the build sheet to no avail......
Windshield is broken, passenger wing vent is missing, the balance of glass is tinted, and, in good shape, it looks like the windshield mldgs have never been off the car, they have some sanding marks, but, are very straight...
The frame you see under the car will not go with this purchase, it belongs to my red 64 tri power car..I will supply with another roller frame, or a hand made steel frame w/wheels, your choice, this will be included in the sale price...unless something else is worked out...we do have delivery available locally in so. california, az region.....
This is a No Reserve auction, it will sell to the highest bidder, don't be shy about calling, and, asking questions....I know these are hard to find in this condition, ....rob 951-907-2725

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
