NO RUST EVER. All original panels with zero accidents. I purchased from the original owner, car was totally unmolested until I got it. I messed with  it a little.

Engine had never been out, so 30 over, hi/rise with holley, cam and headers. Top notch stuff on rebuild. Has a lot more power than the worn out 2barrel. All A/C stuff has been removed as it would not go back on with the headers.  I put the GTO exhaust splitters on also GTO grill and 72 gunsight  front parking light things. I just liked em. White convertible top has a couple tears and should be replaced. We never have it up.  Interior needs front seats covered and door panels, well it needs redone but is serviceable as is. I thought about a color change on the interior. You can get a complete package, as most of you know . The car came from the factory with the rally II and hood options. Also comes with original paper work like that protecto-plate thing. Paint is very good but not show worthy and not red. Doors and trunk shut with a click as they should. Drives straight, stops straight, no known problems or mechanical issues. I purchased this car because of the body and it being a convertible. The rest of the stuff is small stuff to me. Feel free to call me if you have an interest as I know people will have questions. All parts original to the car comes with. Good size pile.  Thanks,  Rick 573-557-2020

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.

Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am

Wed, 15 May 2013

When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
