I bought this car about 4 years ago as part of my mid life crisis and have driven it on summer saturdays and sundays putting about 300 miles on it since.

When I bought it, it was in good shape (not great) and ran awsome. I took this car to the next level bringing it back to factory specs.

There were a few loose bolts and odds and ends that were needed to perfect the ride I knew 30 years ago. (had one when I was in my twenties back in 82)

The interior was original and as clean as a 30 + year interior could be.

I installed new carpet , seat covers, seat backs,  headliner and t/top trim and various items making interior pretty much new.

The engine and trans were rebuilt prior to my ownership but still gave some tweaking to as well.

Full dual exhaust finished with walker factory type tail pipes. (had headers) sounds much nicer now.

Engine was completley tuned,  oil pan gasket and rear main replaced.( leaking from sitting so long)

Shocks, springs, brakes and tires are like new.

Miles are unknown but I assure you, this car is SOLID inside and out!!

This car was given an awsome paint job back in the day but has been a few years since and does have a couple minor dings.

I think a new paint job is the only thing holding this car back from being a trailer queen..

I really don't want to sell it but i need room in my garage for my new project

This car starts, runs and drives like new with zero rattles

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
