1979 Pontiac trans am real Bandit Y84 specula Edition with factory WS6 package. This car was born with every single
option I ever wanted. It has the WS6 package from the factory which gives the car 8" wide wheels and 4 wheel disc
brakes. It also gave the car a special handling package suspension upgrade. This car has NO rust anywhere. There is
zero rot under this car. It still has the original qtrs on the car. It also has the original radio still in the car
with the original rear deck in tact. I believe the factory speakers might even be in the car. I just never looked.
The radio still works and plays music. This is the highest factory real Bandit I have ever come across. Power
windows, power door locks, cruise control, tilt, power trunk release, deluxe vinyl interior, special dome lamp, air
conditioning(not presently hooked up), the options are all listed on the window sticker for you to read. It comes
with the original WS6 wheels that I took off the car before I had the new wheels and tires installed because I
wanted new wheels and tires. The old wheels are in amazing shape, They just need to be repainted. New items on this
car include gas tank, brakes, interior, headliner, Pypes x exhaust including the drop down tips I never put on,
carpet, wheels, tires and most of the weather trim. I have the PHS report along with a copy of the window sticker
which is all included. I am also selling this car with the cover shown in the picture. The original 403 is gone. I
now have an amazing Pontiac 455 that was rebuilt in 2015. This is a 1970 block. Arguably the best year 455 ever
made. The engine has less than a 1000 miles on it. I cant tell you enough how incredible this engine runs. It never
even smokes after being in storage all winter. It runs like a top. I just had DRC racing tune the car this Spring.
DRC told me that this car has a 4 bolt main. The Pontiac 455 motors are not getting any easier to find. DRC
confirmed that this is a 1970 block. There is stampings on the bottom of the engine. The turbo 400 trans was also
rebuilt and has a shift kit. It's a perfect match for this engine. I am guessing the engine makes around 400HP.
Plenty of power to turn this big tires.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns

Sun, 05 Oct 2014

Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.
