Up for auction is a untouched original 1981 Pontiac Trans Am. It has all its original equipment AC, Cruise control, exhaust and engine. This is a 3 owner car that was bought new in Southern California than when they moved to Oklahoma where it was sold to the person I bought it from earlier this year. The engine runs great. Runs and shifts like it should. Body in great shape with no rust. Has a couple minor dings and dents but in excellent shape for its age. This car being a southwestern car has the issues you would expect to find with cars from this area. The paint is faded, some of the rubber seals will need to be replaced, and the interior will need some parts reconditioned or replaced due to fading and dry rot. But all parts are available and easy to find. If I were to keep it I would clean it up, paint it. refresh the interior, new decals and use it for a summer fun car. If you are looking for a 2nd generation trans am that is not beaten to hell and chopped up this is for you. I've been as honest and up front with it its pros and cons because I know personally what it's like to have a seller embellish the condition of a vehicle to sell it. I've been to both coasts and wound up walking away because it was nothing like it was advertised. This will not waste your time this can be driven while you work on it. But remember this is a 30+ year old car so there may be some things that may need to be repaired during your fix up that I'm unaware of but that you may find later. I want the winning bidder to be happy with what they won. Good luck. Bidders with less than 5 feedbacks contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Winning bidder is responsible for shipping. Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auctions end. $1,000 due at auctions end and balance upon pick up or shipping. If picking up in person balance to be paid in cash. Any questions please ask.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes
Wed, 31 Oct 2012It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall
Wed, 09 Apr 2014General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.
General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]
Fri, 26 Aug 2011You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
