I'm selling this car on behalf of my nephew. He bought this car, we did a little work on it, including four brand new tires, but it proved to be a little too high performance for a daily driver. This car has absolutely no rust whatsoever! It is as solid as the day it was built. I relocated some brake lines to get them away from the headers and even the factory spring wrapped around the brake lines moved free. In fact, I removed the wrap from the old lines and put them on the new lines so I could make the tight bends without kinking the line. The mileage is ORIGINAL and under 17,000! The factory brake pads, rotors, shoes, and drums are still ORIGINAL to the car - and there's plenty left! This car was customized with a built up Chevy 350 which has aluminum intake, headers, Holly 750 carb, high pressure/high volume electric fuel pump, and custom bent TRUE dual exhaust all the way to the back. There is all the piping and wiring for NOx but it's not connected to the manifold. NOx tank is NOT included. The transmission is a Corvette C-4 and Corvette posi-traction rear axle. I don't know the exact gear ratio but based on experience I would guess they're in the 4:10 range. Everything in the car is original on the interior - even the factory installed cassette deck. The T-Tops do not leak and have the original storage bags for when you remove them. The air conditioning works but the belt was removed for more performance. We put an old belt on just to try it and then removed the belt again because it was in bad shape. The a/c system is still charged with R-12 and would have to be converted to R-134a if you ever need to repair anything. The ORIGINAL factory paint is sun faded and pretty chalky. There are spots on the hood, roof, and hatchback where the paint was worn to primer and someone sprayed some red paint on them to prevent rust. I'm pretty sure buffing it would just remove most of it but I didn't try it. Please take note that the car is wet in some of the photos, it does NOT have shiny paint. The other photos shows the flat paint appearance which is what it really is.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported
Thu, 13 Feb 2014General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.
NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
