I purchased this 356B T-6 two years ago from the second owner. The car was purchased in San Diego California by the original owner and has been in California for most of its life with the exception of 2 years when it was garaged in Chicago while the owner was stationed overseas. It was a dealer demo car that was ordered in Bali Blue/Red Leatherette (this was not a factory combo). The car retains its original transmission #60849 and I have the original engine #609975 though it is not in the car (it will not turn over but it is complete except for fly wheel and belly tin). Currently the car has a Super 90 #705726 that runs beautifully. I have driven the car for the last two years on 500+ mile rallies and several club drives as well as normal driving around town with zero problems. The original owner drove the car regularly and converted the car to a split 6/12 volt system it retains that system and is trouble free. The only item on the car that I have found that doesn't work is the tachometer (cable needs to be replaced), it does not have the original radio, tool kit or dash pad. I have some paperwork on the car that I found when I was going through the car that will come with it.

This is an unrestored car that is VERY RUST FREE, the only two spots I have found are surface rust on the rear side windows that's it. The pan and and all underneath are very solid, the car would be a great restoration candidate or preservation class with some work on the seats. The headliner is in good condition and the door panels and rear seats are good considering the age, all chrome trim pieces are in good shape no pitting or anything, the cover for the trunk is original and in very good condition and it has the original jack, the original rubber floor mat is in the car. The original wheels and caps are also on the car and 3 are date stamped 10/62 and 2 are stamped 8/62 and I just put new tires on the car.  At some point the front of the car was painted (looks like a minor accident as there is no signs of damage other than the respray that is aging-see photos). I believe that the roof, rear and the doors retain their factory paint (with the exception of 1/2 the driver's side door - see photo).

I have the COA from Porsche North America and please note this comes with both engines so please consider that in your shipping costs. If you only want the original engine I can put it in the car but you must let me know in advance and we can work something out on the cost. I will deliver it to the port of Oakland, California USA if my reserve is met but the buyer is responsible for ALL shipping costs. These unrestored rust free cars are getting harder to find and I have tried to describe as accurately as I can but if here is something you would like to know email me and I get back to you.

Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach package does 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

Porsche marketers are having a field day with the 918 Spyder after some last-minute tuning improved the car's performance. They now say that it's so fast it's already beaten itself. Let us explain: Using a Weissach package-equipped 918 as an example (which reduces the plug-in hybrid supercar's weight through the deletion of some interior items, more generous use of carbon fiber and magnesium wheels), the car's previous official 0-62 miles-per-hour time of 2.8 seconds has been cut to 2.6. Additionally, 0-124 mph takes 7.2 seconds and 0-186 mph is dispatched in 19.9 seconds, times that were reduced by half a second and 2.1 seconds, respectively.
In all-electric mode, a non-Weissach pack 918 does 0-62 mph in 6.2 seconds (with the package, 6.1 seconds), down from 6.9 seconds. Efficiency is also improved thanks to the final tuning. The New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) rating of a Weissach pack-equipped car equates to 94 miles per gallon, up three mpg compared to before. That's pretty good for a car with 887 horsepower!
Check out the press release below for more details on how Porsche's final tuning measures improved its flagship supercar.

The 2014 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S brings 50 extra ponies to Detroit

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

Porsche has announced a new version of its popular SUV today at the Detroit Auto Show: the 550-horsepower 2014 Cayenne Turbo S.
This newly minted "flagship" of the Cayenne lineup is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 engine, and offers 50 hp more than the Cayenne Turbo. Performance figures are impressive for the sleek utility vehicle: 0-60 miles per hour can be dashed off in 4.3 seconds, while maximum speed is rated at 175 mph. The Turbo S also gets dynamic chassis control, torque vectoring and Porsche's Sport Chrono package - all standard equipment.
Visually the Cayenne Turbo S differentiates itself from the lesser models in pretty subtle ways. Gloss black trim decorates the gawping front air intakes, as well as rear-view mirror trim panel. The SUV also wears 21-inch Turbo II wheels, a la the 911 Turbo.

Porsche Cayenne GTS, base models revealed ahead of LA

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Porsche unveiled a slew of refreshed Cayennes just a few months ago, but the base model (right) and high-performance GTS trim (above) were conspicuously absent from that list. There's no more reason to wonder about them, though, because the German brand plans to unveil both at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19.
Sitting below the Turbo in the lineup, the latest GTS still offers plenty of performance. It drops the previous version's naturally aspirated V8 in favor of a tuned version of the twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 from the Cayenne S for some added oomph. The tweaks bring power up to 440 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, which is enough to rocket the model to 62 miles per hour in an estimated 5.2 seconds. The bump also equates to 20 hp and 39 lb-ft more than the current S and more importantly 20 hp and 62 lb-ft more than the previous GTS, according to Porsche.
In addition to the extra muscle, Porsche also decks the GTS out with some added features. It comes with a standard sport exhaust and Porsche Active Suspension Management system with an air suspension lets the chassis sit about three-quarters of an inch lower (20 millimeters). To bring things to a halt, the high-performance models also takes its brakes from the Turbo model.
