                                                                                                 1969 Porsche 911T

This is an original condition, unmolested, one owner Porsche 911T.  Paint is original. (ossi blue)  Engine, transmission and drive train are original  and number matching.  Car has been in dry storage since 1975 and comes with full documentation history.  Original 6 volt batteries set up still in the car as it was from the factory.

Interior:   Good to excellent condition.  Leather seats are perfect with very little wear.   Dash is perfect.  Gauges are good, blaupanck radio, steering                       wheel etc all good to excellent.  Small hole in drivers side carpet, some minor stains on edge of headliner but should clean up easily.                           Glass is excellent.

Body:       Overall very good condition.  Car was never raced or in an accident.   Paint is original  Cosmetic and lower surface rust on body panels with                  no rust through or holes.  Small dent  on   engine lid and trunk lid.  (See pics)  Rockers need replaced or repaired.  Trunk, battery                                  compartments , storage box and floor are all excellent.

Frame and undercarriage :  Floor panel in overall good condition but will need minor patching on driver side rear floor.  Suspension looks good and                                                solid. Frame and supports are in good condition except for corrosion around rear left torsion support.  That will have
to be repaired but should not be a major issue.  Jack supports are solid. Rear passenger wheel does not turn freely.

Engine and Transmission:  Original, intact and unmolested.  Numbers matching and factory correct.  I did not attempt to start the car but I assume it
                                             will need attention.

I have tried to be as forthcoming and as accurate as possible in my description of this 911.  Please look over the pictures carefully and contact if you have any questions.  Good Luck.

The pre-race and first in-race report from Le Mans

Sat, 22 Jun 2013

The 2013, 90th anniversary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has begun, tragedy marking the opening laps with the death of Allan Simonsen. We're at the track now as a guest of Audi and plan to stay through the evening, and even we haven't been able to find out what caused the accident - the only video is from just after the incident, and beyond the statement from ACO there's been no more news. The Aston Martin in the LM GTE Am class and its all-Danish drivers had taken pole in its class and was one of the favorites to win.
The pre-race report will come first, and even thought we can't spoil the race because we're only five hours into it at the time of writing, we'll put all of the news at the end in case you don't even want the updates.
Or you can go straight to the high-res galleries above.

2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

A Wicked-Fast Street Legal Multi-Tool
Walter Röhrl was carving up the circuit in the Porsche 911 Turbo S like a skilled Jedi Master - and I was sitting next to him, mesmerized by the breathtaking show. I had strapped myself securely into the front passenger bucket of the all-new coupe less than a minute earlier, expecting nothing more than a few quick laps around a track at the hands of another celebrated race driver. Been there, done that. Many times, actually.
Yet this was different. Röhrl was not only calculated and methodical in his approach, but his rally-tuned cerebrum appeared to be actively reading available grip levels while effortlessly tossing the all-wheel-drive Porsche into each corner at gut-wrenching speeds. His hands were moving rapidly, sending tiny steering corrections to the front tires, and he was using every inch of the track to extract more speed. We launched over a curb, dropped a wheel in the dirt and then drifted around a wide off-camber turn. His human precision and focus was astounding, and the performance he was extracting from the machine was just short of breathtaking.

Porsche rules out Macan, 911 hybrids

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Believe it or not, between the 918 Spyder, the Cayenne and the Panamera, Porsche offers more plug-in hybrid models than any other brand. Yes, Porsche. But don't expect that trend to continue. At least, not in the immediate future.
According to Top Gear, the E-Hybrid powertrain in the Cayenne and Panamera is too big to fit into the smaller Macan. A future hybrid system could be small enough to fit, but with the current technology still fresh, that'd still be some ways down the twisting road.
It stands to reason, then, that if the system wouldn't fit in the Macan, it wouldn't fit in the Boxster or Cayman, either. But what of the 911? Surely Porsche would like to stick it to BMW and its new i8, and proved it could do a hybrid 911 when it rolled the GT3 R Hybrid (pictured) out onto the race track over four years ago. But Zuffenhausen is reportedly in no rush to put that idea into production - not for the current 911 and not for the next one, either.
