1983 Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet

Platinum Silver Metallic paint on Brown Cork Interior.

Great condition with recent service and newer top.

Runs, Drives, and shifts wonderful. Great driver quality car.

Owners Manual, Tools, Air Pump, Top Covers. Non smoker, clean interior, well sorted example.

The car starts quickly, does not smoke, and comes to idle nicely. The transmission is quiet and smooth and shifts as expected.

Leaving from a stop the clutch engages smoothly and predictably, acceleration is linear and strong, and the car comes up to speed nicely.

Brakes still have a bit of life remaining and stop without noise, vibration, or hesitation. The wheel does not pull, vibrate, or shudder under any

circumstances.

The exterior of the car has nice a clean paint in good overall shape
The wheels are in good shape overall with no bends or damage. The undercarriage is largely rust freeaside from normal surface corrosion on the mild steel parts of the exhaust system. This car has always been garage kept.

The car was recently serviced and all fluids and filters were changed which include the oil, fuel, and air filters. A new set of Continental Extreme

Contact Summer tires were installed and balanced. The brake fluid was replaced and bled along with a clutch cable adjustment. Lastly the

battery was replaced due to age. Mechanically the car may need a set of front struts in the future and the a/c compressor will need servicing.

Currently the a/c belt was removed due to the system being inoperative. The heat and vent do work.

The interior of the SC is in beautiful shape. The surfaces are not faded or dried out and present well. The carpets and cocomats are clean and

odor free as the rest of the leather and vinyl pieces in great cosmetic condition. The gauges, lights, turn signals, switches all function as they

should. The car has an aftermarket stereo and speakers with amplifier mounted under the driver’s seat.

The car will come with owner’s manual, keys, spare momo wheel, air pump, and top covers.

Porsche calls in The Committee for Boxster and Cayman GTS

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

Porsche is set to offer up the very first GTS variants of its more affordable Boxster convertibles and Cayman coupes. This is very good news for enthusiasts. Aside from our original post announcing the hotted up models, though, Porsche hasn't given us much to go on.
And you know what? This video isn't much of help either. It's called The Committee, and we're guessing it's meant to highlight the lengths that Porsche went to in designing what are essentially sportier trim levels for its two most affordable entries. Still, it's a stylized and entertaining video with a few entertaining driving scenes scattered throughout, and it gives just a small glimpse of Porsche's view of the vaunted GTS badge.
Take a look below for the full video.

eBay Find of the Day: 1981 Porsche 928 convertible by Carelli

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

The Porsche 928 was perhaps the consummate European GT of its day. With a powerful front-mounted V8 engine that grew in displacement as the model years went on, it was capable of eating up the miles at triple-digit speeds in great comfort for occupants. It was also an unusual beauty, with its sharp front and curved rear featuring innovative integrated bumpers.
Currently for auction on eBay Motors is one of the rarest 928s you're likely to find, in a handsome combination of Guards Red paint and tan leather interior, though we wouldn't mind a less-showy finish to the factory wheels. According to the seller, this car is one of eight 928 convertibles by Carelli Design, a firm that's still in business.
The auction claims that these cars were made in 1981 as a feasibility study between Carelli and Porsche for a possible production 928 convertible. The seller says he worked at the dealership where the car is said to have been originally sold $103,000. To remove the roof and hide the convertible top, there were significant changes made to the body and interior, including redesigned doors and a completely new trunk. As you can see in the gallery, when down, the top is completely hidden in a very factory-like fashion. When up, it looks slightly awkward, though (and we'd really like to see a rear three-quarter view to check out the blind spots).

There's a Porsche Cayman under here somewhere

Wed, 15 Jan 2014

What we have here is the work of Dubai tuner Royal Customs that is controversial even beyond its styling. The Middle East aftermarket house says it spent fourteen months developing a bodykit for the Porsche Cayman, and the results seem to be aimed at those who wish their coupe were a 918 Spyder - the nose, strake-filled and widened rear fender, carbon fiber wing and massive diffuser all cribbing some from Stuttgart's new hybrid supercar.
Even without a buyer, the Alpha One Concept is already controversial. When WorldCarFans posted on the Royal Customs car recently, German tuner Alpha-N Performance wrote in alleging that the Dubai package copies their design from two years ago, which was also called the Alpha One, a design with which it's clear the Dubai Alpha One shares numerous cues. We asked Royal Customs about its relationship to the Alpha One car, we were told, "Yes, there is a lot we can say about the remarkable similarities all of which will be explained by our press release by Mr. Emil from Autogespot. Please wait for the official release and you will have the full exciting story. It's an 'actual success story' and not a 'replication' story."
The response is referring to an "extensive report" on the car coming out of Autogespot. Royal Customs doesn't have the Alpha One Concept on its site yet, so we're still missing quite a few details on it, such as whether the Porsche engine has been given a similarly 918-ish workover. We do know that the company says each car takes 30 days to build and it will only build three of them, which is a number that should satisfy any haters and, even more so, its buyers. You can decide which side of the fence you're on by having a close look at it in the gallery above.
