History
Originally purchased in West Virginia and later making its way to the second owner in the Chicago area. The 2nd
owner unfortunately had the car stolen from him in 2004 but was covered by his insurance. After the car was
recovered in 2005 it was resold, but with a rebuilt title according to Illinois regulations. The next owner lived
in Indiana, and upon inspection was given a clean and clear Indiana title for the car, which is how it now being
sold.
Condition
The car retains all of its original body panels and most of its original paint, aside from what appears to be a
small section spotted in on the driver’s rear quarter panel. Clearly garage kept, the car is very clean across
the exterior and underside. The paint is in good condition but could use a thorough polishing. The only blemishes
are minor chips and scuffs on either bumper, a tiny spot of rust around the lower edge of the rear window, a
mismatching driver’s rear taillight, and loose trim along the driver’s side. Overall condition of the car is
better than average considering the mileage.
Inward, the leather seats are in great condition along with the dash, console, door panels, and carpets. Again,
considering the mileage and age, the interior shows little wear but is in need of a thorough detail. No additional
or original parts aside from whats pictured are included. That means no original radio, no original steering wheel,
and no manuals.
Options
Features include the usual items like power windows & locks, cruise control, and A/C. Additional features include
the 8 way power comfort front seats sunroof, and an Ipad based stereo system. Below you’ll see the data tag
decoded;

438 8-way electrical seat/Comfort seat right

900 Tourist delivery
Mechanicals
This bone stock Carrera 4 is powered by the air cooled 3.6 liter engine which produces 247 horsepower and 228 lbs
of torque. Backing the motor is a 5 speed manual gearbox and Porsche's venerable all-wheel drive system.
A few receipts from the last owner covers the newly installed clutch. And although the car drives great currently,
the ABS light is on and we are recommending that the car be looked over before any long distance drives. As to be
expected too, the valve covers leak slightly but the car is largely dry underneath. The car does start quickly and
drives well. Once underway, power is abundant and shifts are crisp, while the brakes and suspension work as built.

2013 Porsche 911 RSR makes official debut

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Porsche is ready to go racing in 2013, showing off a new 911 RSR today that is scheduled to compete in several endurance events this year. Based on the current 991 911, the new RSR will compete in the 2013 season of the World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It will not, however, make an appearance in a North American racing series this year.
The 2013 version of the racecar has increased in wheelbase by some four inches, features a new wishbone front suspension in place of the last-generation's McPherson strut setup and boasts a new, lightweight six-speed racing gearbox. The engine, meanwhile, is an "optimized" version of last year's car, a 460-horsepower 4.0-liter boxer six-cylinder. Extensive use of carbon fiber and polycarbonate windows help the RSR shed weight, and Porsche has also balanced the weight more evenly with a lower center of gravity.
Porsche has thoughtfully dedicated some space to celebrate the 911's 50th Anniversary, with the number 50 clearly visible in the top-down view of the RSR, as well as along the doors. Scroll down to read the full Porsche press release, below.

Jack Olsen built one Porsche to do it all

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

Jack Olsen has built himself a lair called the 12-Gauge Garage, and inside that garage he built a lairy Porsche 911 nicknamed Black Beauty II. Although it looks like one of Stuttgart's models from the sixties or seventies, it is actually four decades of 911 gubbins from 1965 to 2000 thrown under one shell: the lightweight body is from 1972, the transaxle from 1977, the brakes from a 1986 Turbo, the engine from 1995, for example. It weighs 2,400 pounds and it's got 272 horsepower to get it going, but it's still a pure Porsche, Olsen saying, "If you stop thinking about what you're doing, it will remind you in very abrupt ways."
Olsen said the real point has been to have one car that does it all, so he does everything in his 911 from neighborhood runs to 7-11 to track racing - he loads the aero bits in the car and bolts them on trackside. And he says he'll never stop tweaking the suspension.
You can watch and hear the rest in Olsen's words in the video below.

Porsche Cayman gets a new face

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

We've already seen photos of the facelifted Porsche Boxster out testing, but we're now seeing these same changes making their way onto the hardtop Cayman coupe. Cosmetically, the next round of Porsche's smallest sports cars isn't vastly different, with redesigned headlamps, LED running lights (like its big brother, the 911), and new taillamps that actually aren't visible on the prototype seen here.
The big news for the updated Boxster/Cayman range is the long-rumored four-cylinder engine. Recent reports suggest we could see four-pots with displacements of 1.6, 2.0, or 2.5 liters, and with output ratings as high as 360 horsepower. Of course, these new four-cylinder mills would be both turbocharged and direct-injected.
It's unclear whether or not the six-cylinder engine range will also be updated when this new Cayman comes to market. In any case, we expect to see it bow in the relatively near future. Stay tuned.
