Kaysville, Utah, United States

No reserve 1972 Porsche 911 Targa with 2.4 liter S motor (I'll have a pic of motor num so you can verify as I am not expert.) Car has Cabriolet Conversion.  It was done well but has been a while ago.  The car is a California car and has been in California  at least for the past 20 plus years as near as I can tell (based on the California title in hand issues in 1994) and has only been in Utah for 6 months and has been stored inside.  Car would be very easy to put back to original as far as the top goes.   I am listing this for a friend so dont know everything about it but will list all I know and make it available to call for any further questions at 8OI-647IOI2.  It is also flared about 2 inches with flared quarters put on it from what I am told.  It has newer porsche wheels in it and the seats are custom and from the color of the interior I would say it was set up for a woman or someone who really likes the color purple :)  The A/C compressor is not there. I dont really know if the miles are 54k or 154k but it reads 54779 The car is a blast to drive and has had about 100 miles put on it in the last month or so on a couple of nice days.  Spring weather is here and has been fun to take it for a couple short drives. Gages work for the most part and floors are very solid.

I work in the shipping industry and although do not deal much with car transports I know a couple experts and can get you a rough quote if you will tell me where you live. It will be shipping from the Salt Lake City area (unless you would like to drive it home). You can call 8O16471O12 if you want a ship quote over the phone also.  Roughly $1000 to $1200 to east coast, $800 to midwest, and $500-600 western area depending just to give an idea.
Please feel free to come and see/inspect anytime. I can pick up from airport no problem.  Please please serious (qualified) buyers only so we do not waste each others time.

I have this vehicle listed for sale or trade locally or combination of both so I reserve the right to end the listing anytime if the right offer is presented locally.  This vehicle is sold as is where is with no warranties expressed or implied.  He will accept bank wire transfer, cash in person or even major bank cashiers check that can be verified locally.

Please if you have any other questions I will make myself available over phone or in person.  I reserve the right to cancel bids from bidders with less than 10 feedback but will not if you contact me and let me know you are serious.

I tried to take a couple of videos driving the car etc...they did not turn out too easy to watch trying to drive and film and shift at same time but I will try and add them on a youtube video so if I cant get it done tonight look for it in a couple days or email me for link.
Than you again and please call 8OI647IOI2 for any questions whatsoever.

Studiotorino shows new Cayman-based Moncenisio sports car

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

While the recent bankruptcy of Bertone shows that it has become very difficult to be a coachbuilder today, it seems there is still a business case in creating unique bodies for premium vehicles. Case in point, Studiotorino a small, Italian coachbuilder that has been creating limited-edition cars since 2005. Its latest creation is the Moncenisio, which debuted as a prototype at the National Automobile Museum of Turin on March 21. It's named after the 1902 Susa-Moncenisio race in Italy, the first automotive hillclimb in the world.
The Moncenisio begins life as Porsche Cayman S, and each car will be built to order with a planned production run of 19 examples. The chassis, mechanicals and engine are all left untouched. The only thing that Studiotorino alters are the body panels and interior appointments. Prices start at at a heady 145,000 euros ($200,420 US), plus the cost of the donor vehicle.
Architect Daniele Gaglione penned the shape of the Moncenisio, taking inspiration from the 1963 Porsche 904. The sports coupes receive carbon fiber pieces that replace the front bumper, side panels and rear bumper. Studiotorino also covers the rear side windows with welded metal panels. The design is still clearly a Cayman, especially from the front, but the extended roof and support pillars create a new look from behind, which features a new exhaust treatment and rear spoiler. The interior receives leather upholstery on the engine compartment cover, the partition between the engine and seats, ceiling and A-pillars. Scroll down to view a walkaround of the Moncenisio and read the full press release about it.

eGarage video features Helmuth Bott's personal Porsche 959 prototype

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

"We thought we were going to build a super-911," said Peter Schutz, former CEO of Porsche AG of the development of the Porsche 959. That was before it started getting expensive. At that point, Helmuth Bott, Porsche R&D director got frightened. Costs ballooned because of the all-wheel drive, sequential turbocharging and other technology Porsche had never even thought about when it set out to build a 911 to compete in Group B. Schutz continued, "The amount of resources we were committing got totally out of hand." Instead of pulling the plug, Bott doubled down and drew on the strength of his brilliant team to build a car whose impact is still echoing aross the industry.
"It's probably one of our most prized possessions" says Don Leatherwood, Director of the Brumos collection where Dr. Bott's personal prototype resides, and where Frazer Spowart went to see the car and create a video for eGarage. Check out the sights and sounds of the 959 before it was the 959, and get personal takes on the car from Hurley Haywood, Peter Schutz and Don Leatherwood. Keep reading to see the video.

Porsche announces four flavors of updated Cayenne [w/video]

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

The new Macan may be getting all the attention lately, but Porsche hasn't forgotten about its larger crossover - the one that put it on the map in 2002 and on the road to profitability, with over half a million sold so far. So to keep the Cayenne at the top of its game, Porsche has announced several key upgrades for the 2015 model.
For starters, Porsche has updated the Cayenne's appearance with new front- and rear-end styling. The front bumper, fenders and hood are entirely new, with air fins flanking the nose to direct air into the intercoolers (each model now being artificially aspirated), and new bi-xenon headlamps and daytime running LEDs on every model but the Turbo, which goes all-LED. Around back there's also new taillights, tailgate handle, lower rear fascia and exhaust pipes. Meanwhile the interior has been upgraded with a 918-derived sport steering wheel and reformed rear seats with available ventilation.
The bigger news is under the engine bay, where Porsche is offering four choices. The base model is gone as the range starts with the Cayenne Diesel, followed by the Cayenne S, the new Cayenne S E-Hybrid and the top-of-the-line Cayenne Turbo. The Diesel model carries over the same 3.0-liter turbo diesel with 240 horsepower. The Cayenne S however packs a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 that's similar to the one found in the Macan Turbo and packs the same 406 lb-ft of torque but more power at 420 hp, 20 more than either its little brother or the model it replaces to reach 62 mph in 5.2 seconds.
