For sale: Porsche 944 Turbo in Red. I bought this car off of Ebay a year and a half ago and it has been outstanding. I replaced the clutch slave cylinder and the alternator up to this point. I have a box of parts I have nabbed off of Ebay when I found good deals so there are hoses, brake pads, fuel filter and other bits and pieces that I just haven’t had time to install. Selling it because I just don’t drive it as much as it deserves, and I have 3 other vehicles to maintain. As you can see in the pics, there are two minor dents, the driver seat needs to be re-covered. The paint looks great from 20 feet but there is some fading in areas. The steering rack leaks, but I did find that. There is a plastic cap that goes in the bottom that popped out and needs to be replaced. Mostly minor TLC that I haven’t got around to. The only major thing I can think of at this point is the Timing/Balance belts, I am not sure of the exact mileage on them but I have put about 10k on the car so that at least gives you an idea. Adding in a few things I have been asked about: The tires are W rated Indy 500 Ovals with about 75% tread life, it has the original paint so there is some sun fading and clearcoat loss on the front bumper (see picture). Daughter has great taste, gives stepdad Porsche 914 of his youth

Whether it's the time to watch a baseball game or the money just to get there, parents have to give up something for the betterment of their offspring. Of course, once a child grows up, it's finally possible to repay mom and dad for all of their hard work. In the case of Kristin Russell and her stepdad, Dave, that involves a surprise 1973 Porsche 914.
Before he got married, Dave had a sweet, white 914. He even had the money saved up to restore it, but spent the cash on the wedding instead. The Porsche languished in the garage until Dave eventually parted it out and sold it off. Years later, Russell wanted to do something to thank her stepdad for all of the things he had done for her and her mom. The only fitting thank you was an identical 914 to the one that he gave up. Evo sets up duel of Porsche 911s
Thu, 20 Mar 2014What's better, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive? That question has occupied auto enthusiasts for years, and so far, we've not really had a solid answer one way or the other. Evo has opted to take another whack at this tough question by pairing a pair of Porsche 911s against each other for a track battle.
In one corner, we have the two-wheel-drive 911 Carrera S, complete with the lickity-split PDK transmission, a sports suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes. In the other corner, it's the all-wheel-drive 911 Carrera 4S in a much mellower spec, with a seven-speed manual, as well as standard brakes and suspension. While the results seem like they'd be a foregone conclusion, some very British weather is there to act as the great equalizer.

Porsche CEO hints at Macan GTS, expects brand sales growth to 200K+
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Porsche is expecting big things from its little Macan, with CEO Matthias Mueller announcing that not only is a sportier GTS model being considered, but that the CUV will almost certainly help push Porsche beyond its 200,000-unit-per-year sales goal three years earlier than expected.
"We're transferring the genes of the Porsche brand into a new market segment," Mueller said during a speech to kick off Macan production, according to Automotive News Europe. Macan demand should push the brand past 200,000 sales, Mueller said, confirming what we reported back in August. And if Porsche really has a hit on its hands, it is able to boost production of the sporty crossover beyond its initial capacity of 50,000 units, according to the brand's CEO.
Provided that the Macan is the success Porsche hopes it will be, Mueller hinted that the range could expand beyond the initial Macan S and Macan Turbo. "GTS versions have a tradition at Porsche," Mueller said. "We haven't made a final decision yet regarding the Macan, but I'm sure it makes a lot of sense."
