1987 Porsche 944 **Low mileage, clean Car Fax, excellent condition and the best color combo** For sale is my Porsche 944 in bright Guards Red with Black/Linen interior. This car is in exceptional condition both inside and out. The interior is in great shape with a well preserved dash, the seats have no rips and the carpets are excellent. This model has electric windows, cruise control, power seats, an original Blaupunkt cassette and air conditioning. The car also has a CD stereo that can be fitted to the car if preferred, it will be supplied with the car. The air is ice cold and the heater is extremly hot. The car is very original and has the original sunroof bag, air compressor with original Porsche bag and full tool kit. It also has a stack of invoices with work totalling around $9,000 for all the up keeping of this car. Cam belt change, water pump and so on. It has brand new tires all round fitted 3 weeks ago (cost $620) and also has the original period Phone Dial wheels (in mint condition) with brand new tires as well, both sets come with the car. No expense has been spared on this car at all....... It also has the master key and also a second as the spare. It drive beautifully, starts without any smoke and has zero leaks. It's tights, firm, pulls well and feels amazing for a 27 year old classic car. I looked for over 8 months and saw 9 different 944 before buying this one (very rare to find a 944 like this anymore). I bought the car for my wife as a wedding anniversary gift to drive into our local village on the weekends. Her favorite movie is 16 Candles and so if you have seen the movie the Guards Red Porsche 944 is a iconic car, unfortunatly she can't/won't drive a stick so have no use for it. With only 54,000 miles, all work having been done to keep the car excellent and with condition like this it's a very rare car indeed. I live in Westport Connecticut and the car is in my heated Garage. Payment and pickup of the car within 5 days of auction ending. Please note the car will be sold with the original period steering wheel and not the Club Sport one shown on the interior picture. 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo

It's pretty standard for automakers to offer up some examples of competitors when they invite the media to drive a new vehicle for the first time. If not stated outright, it's just as standard for some journalist to query about the competitive set as soon as the Q&A begins. I knew full well that Porsche believes it has a valuable new niche to itself with the 2015 Macan (and especially with the Macan Turbo), but I wanted to hear the answer to the competitor cars question anyway.
Porsche CEO Matthias Müller didn't hesitate for a second to respond. With a half-smirk appropriate to an executive that is about to launch the (very probably) most profitable and best-selling product in his brand's lineup he chuckled, "Of course, I could be arrogant and say this car has no competitors..."
Arrogant? Well, the grinning Müller certainly didn't give off a humble vibe as he proceeded to count down a list of German and British utility vehicles from various classes that are clearly behind the pace of the Macan in either looks, luxury, or sporting prowess - Range Rover Sport, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK among them.
China bans military license plates on luxury autos

Legally reserved for official vehicles only, the designation apparently allows drivers to enjoy special liberties on the roads, including breaking traffic laws, filling up with free fuel and receiving light-and-siren escorts through congested cities. So attractive are the benefits that there is a secondary market for used legal and counterfeit plates - especially among those wealthy enough to afford luxury cars. But all of that is reportedly coming to an end, as President Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission, is on a mission to fight corruption in his country.
A new license plate system goes into effect today, and it is designed to "maintain social harmony, stability and the reputation of the military," says the PLA Daily, the armed forces' official newspaper. While the abuse has been going on for many years, the internet has put the spotlight on the bad behavior, and the negative press does not represent the morals and true colors of the armed forces, say officials.
While military-plated Porsche drivers have been singled out as offenders, Bloomberg notes that all vehicles with engine displacements above 3.0 liters and with a sticker price in excess of about $73,000, will be banned from receiving military plates. This includes vehicles from Audi, Cadillac, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln and the Volkswagen Phaeton. Even if drivers are savvy enough to circumvent the new issuing system, the military has put technology at toll gates to catch users of counterfeit plates. There has been no word on the punishment if caught.
Porsche 911 GT2 RS vs. Mercedes SLS AMG Black in battle of who can shred more rubber

Mercedes-Benz is doing away with the SLS in favor of a rumored smaller and cheaper SLC, and Porsche has said that a new 911 GT2 isn't necessarily a sure thing, which means another 911 GT2 RS is even farther away. In its latest video, Evo's Jethro Bovingdon pits the ultimate versions of these German sports coupes against each other and finds two of the fastest cars the magazine has ever lapped around its track.
In one corner, there is the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series that sits as the pinnacle of the company's halo model. It relies on the classic setup of a V8 mounted in front powering the rear wheels. On the other side, there is the 911 GT2 RS with a turbocharged flat-six mounted at the back, spinning the rear wheels. It was conceived to be Porsche's ultimate expression of a turbocharged 911, and while it's a few years old, Bovingdon shows that it's up to the task of racing a more modern rival.
Both of these rear-wheel-drive monsters are more than capable of some fantastically smoky power-slides, but they also show how great the last generation of sports cars was. Scroll down to check out the video.
