A little about the car:
I am the first and only owner. This car has 3 magazine cover features - Import Tuner, Banzai, and Top Performance Magazine - all on the front cover! It also received a lot of coverage, including at SEMA - Las Vegas, and won 1st place at multiple car shows.

This car was converted to 5x114. Chassis has about 74,000 miles on it. The car, as it is now, was primarily a show car, so the outside is absolutely in immaculate condition. Interior is painted candy gold to match the exterior.

Rare M Sports Widebody Complete Kit (I have receipts to prove it's authenticity). The last I checked, this is only M Sports Wide Body WRX in the United States. M Sports front splitter, rear diffuser, and authentic Do-Luck trunk lid are all included with purchase.

Great for someone wanting to rebuild a legendary car without the hassle of dealing with a body shop. There is well over $100,000 in paint and body work alone. I'm selling this for the cost of the wide body and do-luck trunk, so basically you'll be getting all the labor costs for free. Motor and transmission is not included. This auction is for the complete rolling shell only. Chromoly cage, fuel system, suspension - which are all custom - are also included. Dash is still intact.

Buyer will assume all shipping charges. Local pick-up available. Located in Maryland.

Subaru takes another look back, this time at the 2004 WRX STI

Sat, 21 Dec 2013

Here we have the followup to the rally-mimicking Impreza 22B STI that Subaru recently chronicled in its Vintage Garage series: the 2004 Impreza WRX STI. Displacement for the boxer four was upped from 2.2 liters to 2.5, and after noticing how many buyers had installed larger turbochargers on their WRXs, Subaru decided to bolt on one in-house. That gave the final product 300 horsepower and a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour run of just 4.6 seconds.
It was stiffer, it's body from nose to front doors was penned by Peter Stephens, he of the McLaren F1, it came with a driver-controlled center differential, driver-activated cooling spray for the turbos and 300 pound-feet of torque. This is a curio from a time when, after a new WRX STI came out, you started poring through magazines to see how the Mitubishi Evo was going to respond. You can find out more about it in the video below.

Subaru Forester named Motor Trend 2014 SUV of the Year [w/video]

Thu, 10 Oct 2013

Each year, Motor Trend hands out its coveted Golden Calipers to its Car, Truck and SUV of the Year, and in the latter category, this year's bragging rights belong to the redesigned Subaru Forester. In the 14-year history of the SUV award category, Subaru is the only automaker to win three times (2009, 2010 and 2014) and the Forester is the only model to make a return appearance having also won the award back in 2009. In the last six years, this award has either gone to a Subaru or to a luxury crossover/SUV (Mercedes GL-Class in 2013, Land Rover Range Rover Evoque in 2012 and Porsche Cayenne in 2011).
Out of the 13 new or updated crossovers and SUVs in contention for the award, the 2014 Forester came out on top thanks its value, fuel efficiency and fun-to-drive attitude. Rather than a head-to-head battle, the utility vehicles are all judged on six criteria (design, engineering, efficiency, safety, value and performance of intended function). Other vehicles on the consideration list included the Acura MDX, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Land Rover Range Rover Sport and Toyota RAV4.

Subaru WRX STI gets all gymkhana slidey in new European ad

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

A good partner makes sacrifices for a significant other. They aren't always fun, but sometimes chores have to be done. Subaru's European ad for its new WRX STI clearly understands that dynamic, as it shows what to what lengths a guy is willing to go in order to get his lady some bread in time for breakfast. Of course, running errands in a turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sports sedan down picturesque roads is hardly drudgery.
The wordless ad for the WRX STI says everything you could ever want to know about the winged blue Subaru. It expertly mixes some fantastic gravel rally footage with just a bit of inspiration from Ken Block's Gymkhana videos, as well. The automaker makes the right choice of actually letting the audience hear the growly exhaust and squealing tires over the music, too.
If this was your daily route to the bakery, you'd probably be prepared for a round of the World Rally Championship within a couple of months. Scroll down to watch the Subaru ad about a very polite WRX STI owner making sure breakfast is on the table.
