I am selling my 1970 Toyota fj40. Has a rebuilt chevy small block 400 motor. Starts up every time. Leave for 6 months and come back and she starts right up. I have owned it for 4 years and have never had a problem with it. Has a 5" lift with new 35" tires and 18"wheels.  Magna flow dual exhaust. Bed liner throughout the cabin that looks perfect and brand new. Roll cage from the front of the Fj to the back tires wheel wells. Fenders are bolted into the roll bar. Interior is a 9 out of a 10. not sure what i have to do to make it a 10 out of 10, just being modest. The canopy is in great shape. Its painted in a flat black and in the interior ceiling it is sprayed in white rhino lining.  No keys to start this baby. All race car start with switches and a hidden kill switch. 3 speed Automatic. Aluminum half doors that nobody has. Eye catching car. Since i have owned it and painted it, it has never seen any off road. If you are looking for an off roader this car is ready to go, might be a little to nice to beat up though.  But if you want to make it a show car its  pretty close. I purchased the fj in oregon and had it shipped down to Az. Previous owner built the fj to be a off roader but my intentions were to get it to perfect and have it be a daily driver and look flawless. was well on my way but decided to buy another project (67 mustang fastback) and all my funds went towards the stang. Reason for selling is that i would like make the mustang my sole focus so i can get it to where i want it to be. The fj has been very reliable for me. Put around 2000 miles on it 4 years. Didnt drive it too much. But when i did drive the fj it was great. Motor and exhaust sound beefy and mean. I drove it all over the valley in phoenix az. Drove great on the highway, just cruised at 55 to 60.  All and all this is a great looking Fj that has a straight as can be body in exception of one tiny dent on the front drivers side fender

flaws
It is a 1970 vehicle and it was in oregon so there is minor surface rust underneath the cabin. very minor compared to what you could expect. Stuck my head under there and sanded some spots and it came off very easily. The turn signal switch is a little quirky, it works but you have to hold it a certain way. Back right tail light works when you push your breaks but not when the car is just on with lights on. Minor cracks in paint in a couple places. Fenders will need to be re painted, due to some cracks in the paint from storage. Rarely had the fenders on, i liked the way it looked without them. looks like some of the chrome on the headers is coming off.  All of these flaws are very minor, like it said earlier if u want a show car this is very close to being what you need. If you have any questions just give me a call at 480-621-0888 or email through ebay. I am starting the Auction at $10,000 and no reserve from there. Have fun my name is Aaron Good Luck

2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 4

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

The fourth and final practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is complete. Tomorrow everyone will make any last-minute adjustments and get their cars, their bits and bobs lined up in the pits for Sunday morning's this-time-it-counts run.
The Unlimited runners took on the top section of the course today, Sébastien Loeb and his big-mouth Peugeot acing the practice test again with a time of 2:11. Rhys Millen's team proved its got the engine issues of two days ago in the Hyundai PM580T sorted out, posting the next-best time at 2:27.16. The reason we had to dip all the way into the hundredths for his time is because he nipped Romain Dumas by just .31 of them, the Frenchman in the Norma M20FC PP running the course in 2:27.47. In fourth came the Frenchman in the monster Mini, Jean-Philippe Dayraut six seconds back at 2:33.
Time Attack competitors, also on the upper section, were led by Paul Dallenbach in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a time of 2:36, Porsche pilot Jeff Zwart crossing the line six seconds later at 2:42, fellow Porsche driver David Donner coming in another six seconds back at 2:48. Dallenbach has topped three of the four practice-day sessions, sliding into the second spot behind Donner only on Practice Day 2.

Unintended acceleration settlement hits Toyota's Q4 bottom line

Fri, 09 May 2014

Depending on how you want to look at things, the US Attorney's Office $1.2-billion dollar settlement with Toyota in March over its unintended acceleration recall was either a big blow to the company or completely inconsequential. From January to March, net income fell five percent to 297 billion yen ($2.89 billion), compared to 313.9 billion yen ($3.05 billion) a year ago. However, the automaker still posted record full-year profits worldwide.
Operating profit also fell in the US by 9 percent to $498.1 million for the quarter, but sales were up by 6 percent to 581,261 vehicles. According to Automotive News, global revenue was still up from January to March by about 13 percent and vehicle sales were up 6 percent to 2.58 million units.
However, the payment to the feds did little to hold the company back last year. For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014, Toyota had net income of 1.82 trillion yen ($17.7 billion), compared to 962.1 billion yen ($9.5 billion) in the last fiscal year. Total vehicle sales were also up.

Toyota previews next Lexus RX with Tokyo-bound JDM Harrier

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

The Lexus RX shares much with the Toyota Highlander, but its more direct counterpart is the Toyota Harrrier. Never heard of it? That's because Toyota only sells it at home in Japan, and now it's revealed a new one. So if the Harrier is essentially a Toyota-badged version of the RX, then what's the big deal, you ask? The big deal is that the new Harrier which leaked in July, set to debut at the Tokyo Motor Show next week and which you see here isn't quite the same as the Lexus, and those differences could (and in most cases likely will) make their way over to the RX as well.
For starters, the styling is different. Granted that the Lexus version will almost certainly get a spindle-shaped grille, but even so, the Harrier's nose seems to protrude further than the RX's and the headlamps are a notably different shape. The greenhouse is also a different shape, coming to a sharper point at the back, and the mirrors are fixed to the A-pillar not to the door panel. The taillamps are revised, the tailgate has a new profile and there's a pseudo-diffuser at the bottom of the rear bumper. Subtle changes, to be sure, but then Toyota and Lexus are known for their evolutionary approach to styling. The interior has apparently undergone some updates as well, with a more dynamically styled dashboard, a more symmetrical center stack and different seats, steering wheel, door panels... the works. The infotainment display screen has also moved further down from its position in the current RX.
Toyota will offer the new Harrier with a 2.0-liter four mated to a CVT and driving either the front wheels or all four, and a hybrid setup with a 2.5-liter married to a 140-hp electric motor. The RX is offered here with a 3.5-liter V6 either on its own or with an electric assist. We wouldn't expect Lexus to go swapping the larger engines for the smaller ones, at least not for the US market. There's plenty more to the Harrier, of course, than the similarities and differences to the Lexus RX, and if you're buying a premium crossover in Japan, you can delve into the full details in the press release below, together with the images in the gallery above.
