2002 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner Sr5 6cyl 3.4 Extended Cab Step Side 2wd Automatic on 2040-cars
Timbo, Arkansas, United States
When I bought this truck 3 years ago with 130K I did the following services: timing belt, water pump, thermostat, Toyota coolant, Radiator hoses, drive belts, Iridium plugs, plug wires, K&N air filter, Interstate battery, Royal Purple in trany, Lucas in rear dif,
Last year new tires (85-90% left) Brimbo front brake rotors and power stop ceramic brake pads. I use Castrol synthetic oil and a bottle of seafoam every 4th fill-up. Last week I had the windshield replace because of a rock crack. I get 19.5 mpg in the mountains here where I live and have gotten 23 mpg on the hwy. The truck rides and runs perfect. Selling because we have one vehicle too many and don't use this one much. I have had zero issues with this truck since I have owned it. this is the 8th Toyota I have owned and like the others, as long as you perform reg maintenance, they just keep going. It has a rarely seen stepside bed (will carry 4 X 8 plywood). Toyota did a nice job with this stepside, being it doesn't look stupid like some other makes. Truck has not been smoked in since I have owned it and saw no indication that it had been when I bought it. I would like a deposit via paypal for $300 with a balance due in 5 days. I ask one favor that you please do not purchase until you have your finances to purchase secured first. I'm in north central Arkansas if you would like to pick up the truck (funds must clear bank first!) I can deliver up to 150 miles in any direction if that will help. If you want it shipped, you will have to locate and make arrangements with that shipper Please contact me with any questions or of any additional info and pics you may need.. |

Toyota U2 urban utility concept inspired by Maker Faire [w/video]
Tue, 09 Sep 2014There's a quiet revolution happening in US cities. People want to mix an urban lifestyle with a connection to nature and appreciation for craftsmanship. The result of all of this is folks pursuing things as varied as urban farming, home brewing and the whole maker movement. Toyota thinks it has the perfect concept for these intrepid customers with its new Urban Utility concept that it is debuting during a panel discussion hosted by Make: magazine in San Francisco and debuting publicly on September 20 at the World Maker Faire in New York City.
The Urban Utility concept can best be described as a modern take on the old panel van. Designers from Toyota's Calty Design Research center in California interviewed Maker Faire participants to find out what its users want from a novel vehicle like this. "Toyota saw an opportunity for a new approach to an urban vehicle based on increasing re-urbanization of our cities and urban drivers' desire for flexibility, fun and maneuverability," said Kevin Hunter president of Calty.
On the outside, the Urban Utility doesn't really scream for attention. It's meant to meet users "desire for greater utility but a smaller vehicle footprint," according to the release, but the shape is still very much a van. The designers do try to lend it some panache with the LED headlights up front and checker board side panels. It's really more about utility than looks, though, because the roof can roll back for taller loads, the rear glass retracts into the tailgate, and the whole rear can fold down as a ramp to load stuff more easily into the cabin. Toyota isn't talking about a powertrain yet but claims that the underbody is also especially durable for a long life in the big city.
Toyota, Mercedes, BMW top automakers included in List of Best Global Brands
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Interbrand, a consultancy firm, has published its 13th annual list of the best global brands. Besides seeing some shakeups at the top - Apple and Google unseated Coca-Cola (a company that has dominated the survey since its birth), the 100-item list features 14 automakers, most of which enjoyed double-digit gains in brand value.
Toyota managed to retain its spot as the study's top automaker. It finished the survey in 10th position overall (the same as last year), despite a 17-percent improvement in its brand value, from $29.33 billion to $35.34 billion. Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Honda all made the top 20, at 11th, 12th and 20th place, respectively. Hopping a ways down the list, we come across Volkswagen in 34th place, up from 39th in last year's study, with a brand value of $11.12 billion, a 20-percent improvement over 2012. Ford and Hyundai round out the automakers in the top 50, at 42 and 43.
Porsche made the largest year-over-year gain of any automaker, with its brand value increasing 26 percent to $6.47 billion. Chevrolet meanwhile, cracks the list for the very first time at 89th place. As Interbrand notes, Chevy's inclusion is notable because of the sheer number of vehicles it moves for General Motors and its recent push in developing markets. The final interesting note on this survey is the position of an automaker that takes its name and logo more seriously than perhaps any other - Ferrari. The Italian exotic manufacturer finished 98th out of 100, with just $4.01 billion in brand value, a six-percent improvement over 2012.
Toyota i-ROAD leans its way into the city [w/video]
Mon, 04 Mar 2013According to Toyota, the "i-ROAD takes the company closer to its goal of creating the ultimate range of eco cars." As you're surely aware, that range of eco cars includes the enormously successful Prius family, but this new machine is nothing like the hybrid hatchback. And it's not even a car - Toyota calls the i-ROAD a Personal Mobility Vehicle.
Toyota's i-ROAD Concept, which debuts at this week's Geneva Motor Show, is adorned with just three wheels, meaning it's just as much a motorcycle as it is a car, and the driver and passenger sit in tandem style instead of side-by-side. This arrangement allows for a very thin 850mm width, which is about the same as a large motorcycle. Because the cockpit is enclosed, the occupants don't need helmets, nor are they open to the elements outside.
Also like a traditional two-wheeler, the i-ROAD tilts through the turns and when driving on uneven surfaces. Toyota says its computer-controlled Active Lean technology automatically balances the vehicle with no input from the driver.
