Here is your chance to own a very original 1968 Arizona Yellow Deluxe Van , This is a rare color combo that was only for 1968 . I purchased this great Vw bus from the second owner . Who told me the original owners owned this vehicle till just last year . I do not have records of these things, but the previous owner was a very honest person, so I believe her.. She had told me stories of how all the original owners children learned to drive in this vehicle and was loved by the original owners for over 40 years .

When I purchased the vehicle it was ready for some overhauling . I went through all the braking system, starting with all brake lines , wheel cylinders , brake shoes ,and had all the brake drums turned .
The body of this van is pretty amazing still retaining 95% of its Original Paint . It has had a couple touch ups over the years but is a very solid driver . Yes it does have a little paint fading ,couple dings here and there .But overall has pretty strong paint . I honestly love the way it looks and is nice enough to turn heads and not so nice your afraid to leave it in a parking lot .
The front and rear floors did have replacement pieces welded in and floors resprayed the original color . The rocker panels and good and solid , and is in overall good condition .
The motor is a rebuilt 1600cc with a new alternator, new carb and distributor . the transmission was also gone through at the time of the motor rebuild . So if i had to describe how this bus runs and drives down the road . All I would say is Amazing ! It truly drives like and brand new Vw bus.
The interior is 100% Original, all seat covers , door panels , mats ,and headliner . and are in surprisingly good condition . The tires are brand new with less than 100 miles on them . Also a brand new roof rack was added . And looks great .
If you are looking for a Vw Bus in very good Original Condition with loads of character don't pass this one up . It drives so great who ever wins this auction will not be disappointed ..

VW's Winterkorn tells 20,000 staffers of big cost-cutting plans

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

During a gathering of 20,000 Volkswagen Group employees at company headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany on Wednesday, CEO Martin Winterkorn dropped a bombshell. The boss stated that the automaker isn't operating efficiently enough and admitted the company needs to radically start cutting back to raise its profit margins. To right the ship, Winterkorn has proposed killing off less profitable models and spending less on research and development.
According to Reuters, Winterkorn wants to raise the VW brand's profit margin from about 2.9 percent in 2013 to a target of 6 percent. To make that possible, his plan amounts to increasing cost cutting until Volkswagen reaches about 5 billion euros ($6.7 billion) per year to get things back in order. "Over the short-term, we urgently need more efficiency and higher profit," the CEO said during his speech, according to Reuters.
However, Winterkorn can't make these decisions unilaterally. Volkswagen's works council also has a seat on the supervisory board to represent laborers, and it isn't likely to take the proposed cuts sitting down.

VW midsize crossover production headed for Chattanooga

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

Potential labor woes aside, it looks like Volkswagen's Chattanooga, TN factory must have done something that impressed the bosses in Germany, because it sounds like the three-year-old factory is set to score a second model.
The factory currently builds the Passat, and has been in the running alongside VW's Puebla, Mexico factory to build a new crossover vehicle, likely based on the CrossBlue Concept. According to Bloomberg, a pair of unnamed sources have confirmed that Chattanooga is the favorite ahead of an official announcement.
When last we heard about the CrossBlue Concept, word was that a production decision had been delayed over concerns about the three-row CUV's business case. That August 2013 story claimed that a decision regarding the CrossBlue would be pushed back until early in 2014, which means we're ripe for some sort of news, whether good or bad.

Former Porsche boss Wiedeking won't face criminal charges over VW bid

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Hedge fund managers have been suing Porsche for years now, alleging that the car company lied about its intentions during its failed attempt to take over Volkswagen, a gambit that caused them billion in losses. Over the same period, authorities in Stuttgart built a criminal case against former CEO Wendelin Wiedeking (above, left) and Chief Financial Officer Holger Härter (right), filing charges in December 2012. When those fund plaintiffs lost their most recent court case, one of the dimming lights in the dark and receding tunnel was that the criminal investigation might unearth more evidence about Porsche's actions that could help the plaintiffs in pending litigation.
Bloomberg reports that another light has gone out, though, with a Stuttgart court dismissing the market manipulation case before going to trial because, as a court spokesperson said, "there wasn't enough evidence backing up the charges." When prosecutors get the files back from the court, they have a week to decide to refile, but unless they've been sandbagging evidence that could bolster the case, the only lights at the end of the tunnel will be those welcoming Wiedeking and Härter back to the world of legally unencumbered men.
