Vw Bus 1966 Walk Through / Standard on 2040-cars
Imperial Beach, California, United States
VW Microbus- 1966. Have title.... currently non-op in California.I'm selling my 1966 VW bus AS-IS. It's in decent condition, but will need some attention soon, as some rust is becoming present in various spots. Was rear ended lightly about 3 years ago, but never fixed. Mostly cosmetic repair. Has Wolfsburg West safari windows. All glass in good shape, no bubbling that I've noticed. Front cab floor has the worst decay of all, but has remained the same for the duration of my ownership. Please refer to pictures.
Engine has always ran strong. It was my So Cal daily driver for about 10 years. I 've had it parked for about 1 1/2 year and last started it about 10 months ago. Engine was completely rebuilt about 30k miles ago. Needs new battery to get started. New PICT-30 carb with less than 1K miles on it. Single port 1600. No bells or whistles, just sturdy and reliable. Please send me any particular questions you may have regarding this bus. Additional photos available upon request by contacting me. Prefer local pick up. Cash or Cashier's check ONLY. If buyer wants to ship, you will be responsible for all fees and logistics. Vehicle located in San Diego. |

Anti-union group files lawsuit against VW and UAW
Fri, 14 Mar 2014The fight for unionization at Volkswagen's Chattanooga, TN, factory isn't letting up. Yesterday, the National Labor Relations Board decided to allow anti-United Auto Workers employees at the plant the right to defend voting down the measure. Now, a group called the National Right to Work Foundation has filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of five workers against VW and the UAW for allegedly working together to organize.
The group says in a release that it wants "to block further collusion between the company and the United Auto Workers." It alleges that VW forced workers to attend "mandatory pro-union meetings" and prevented managers from opposing. In a rebuttal on its website, the UAW called the claims "baseless" and said its actions were entirely legal.
One possible problem faces the carmaker in regards to the lawsuit. According to the Detroit Free Press, a recent US Court of Appeals ruling found that neutrality agreements like the one the business had with the UAW could be illegal if the company provided "things of value" to the union. The newspaper also claims that VW held a mandatory employee meeting concerning the election, but workers were free to leave during the UAW's presentation.
World Car Of The Year down to its final four
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
Judges for the World Car of the Year Award have narrowed down the finalists to just four vehicles. Out of a total of 42 entries, only the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT-86 and Volkswagen Golf remain standing. For Volkswagen, this marks the second consecutive year the company has had an entry among the finalists, and the fourth time since 2009. In order to qualify, a vehicle must be on sale on two continents during the span of time between January 1, 2013 and May 30, 2013. A panel of 66 journalists from 23 countries then vote on the finalists.
Three vehicles have made the cut for the last round of voting on the 2013 World Performance Car as well, with the Cayman/Boxster and FR-S/BRZ/GT-86 running against the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Meanwhile, the Renault Zoe, Tesla Model S and Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid are duking it out for the World Green Car Award. Finally, the World Car Design of the Year Award is up for grabs between the Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar F-Type, and the Mazda6. Check out the full press release below. Overall winners will be presented at the 2013 New York Auto Show.
CEO says Volkswagen's buying spree is over
Mon, 03 Sep 2012
After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.
