1957 Ford Ranchero on 2040-cars
Myrtle Creek, Oregon, United States
Up for auction I have my 57 Ford Ranchero. I have decided not to build the car and expand my small business. This is the nicest body That I have found in 30 years for building. The car has been stripped to bare metal sealed and primered. The only body damage besides maybe a few dings is the passenger rocker panel that will need to be replaced. It has very MINIMAL rust. A little in the lip of the passenger rear wheel well. Small amount in the rear floor pans. The transmission tunnel has been cut up for some kind of shifter but I have another trans tunnel for it that just needs trimmed and welded in. The underneath of the fender eyebrows all of these areas they make reproductions for. The complete underneath bed area is absolutely nice and no rust, this also means the spare tire area. The tailgate and doors are solid. The front clip doors and tailgate have been removed for ease of work on the car. I can bolt back on temporarily for transport if needed. The vehicle has custom weld wheels and radial tires. Many parts including hood hinges and core support have been powder coated. I believe I have almost all the trim with the exception of a couple pieces of side chrome. I have all of the stainless that goes around the bed. and that's the hard part to find if missing. Other pieces are easy to find. Now here is whats missing on the car. The front windshield, radiator, seat, gauges, radio, gas tank, and drive line. and of course engine and transmission. But I do have available but NOT included is a Running Mercury 312 YBlock A Heavy Duty large shaft C4 transmission, a Beautiful custom upholstered split bench seat That came out of a 57 ford 2 door hardtop that was a show car and he decided to go to buckets. I also have a front end rebuild kit power break conversion and as I said before NOT INCLUDED but avalible. The pictures are small if you give me your email address by breaking it in code if not ebay wont send the message and I can send larger pictures to you. If you need additional pictures or have any questions. feel free to ask. The car is sitting at my father in laws In Sutherlin Oregon The car is being sold AS IS WHERE IS. WITH NO WARRENTY WRITTEN EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. Vehicle must be picked up personally or arranged with your own shipping company to pick up. Please allow some lead time for us to bolt parts back together if needed for shipping. A $300.00 NONREFUNDABLE deposit will need to be paid within 72 hours of ended auction. Balance to be paid on or before pick up. We will Gladly assisit in the loading of the vehicle if needed.

Ford wins second consecutive International Van of the Year award with Transit Connect
Wed, 18 Sep 2013The redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect isn't even on sale yet, but it's already making its presence felt around the world. At a commercial vehicle expo in Russia, the Transit Connect was named the International Van of the Year.
Ford's small work van edged out the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter by just seven points to allow Ford to grab this honor for the second consecutive year, which it won last year with the Transit Custom. Not only does this make Ford the first to ever win the award in back-to-back years, but it's also the fifth time the automaker has won this award since 2003 (two with the Transit Connect, two with the fullsize Transit and once with the Transit Custom). Ford congratulates itself for the accomplishment in a press release posted below.
This unique '64 Mustang was Edsel Ford II's first car
Thu, 02 Jan 2014You probably had the same dream when you were a teenager. Your sixteenth birthday is coming up, or Christmas, or maybe both, and all you want is a muscle car to call your own. That dream has come true for some, and one of them was none other than Edsel Ford II.
Henry Ford's great grandson turned 16 on December 27, 1964 - two days after Christmas and eight months after the original Mustang went on sale. And that's just what was waiting for him in the driveway, courtesy of his father (and reigning chief executive) Henry Ford II.
The specially-prepared pony car had a pearlescent cream paintjob with narrow blue racing stripes, functional hood scoop, chrome trim, Euro-spec fender-mounted mirrors, a blue leather and aluminum interior, a monogrammed fuel cap... and a 289-cubic-inch V8 under the hood.
J Mays retiring from Ford design, succeeded by Moray Callum
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Ford's highly influential head of design, J Mays, has announced that he'll be retiring from his position after 33 years in the industry, 16 of which were at the Dearborn, MI-based company. Upon departure, he'll be succeeded as group vice president of design by Moray Callum. If that last name sounds familiar, yes, he's the brother of Jaguar's Ian Callum.
It's difficult to explain just how big of a role Mays had on not just Ford's design over the years, but on the entire industry. Before heading to Dearborn, Mays worked for Audi, BMW and then Volkswagen, where he was involved in concept cars that paved the way for design icons like the first-generation Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. As for his Ford resume, it's extensive.
Mays joined the company in 1997 as design director for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, as well as the Premier Automotive Group (Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin). He was heavily involved in the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, F-150 and Mustang, while also contributing to concept cars like the Atlas, Evos, 427, Forty-Nine, Shelby GR-1, Lincoln MKZ and the MKC.
