 Update I have youtube video.

It ran for 10 miles aprox then died it did start back up and ran straight one of wires which is hard to get to is falling

out.  I have levi's  garage check it out...At first it does smoke then after minute it seems to  clear up.

1976 912e #151  with Fiberglass Slantnose European body kit.

I have well over 25k into car and just need to sell it.  I would consider muscle cars of 13k+ in value,

I bought car about 4-5 years ago from doctor he acquired car from California.  I paid 10k for car and engine and 915 trans which was out of car.

floor boards, trunk were supper clean and straight no signs of accidents..

I had 2 shops work on the mechanical, Goltz motors,($4623)
Auto Design by Dragan.($5300)   Paint was $5500 by Nation Wide Costumes. interior by Riverside auto trim and glass. $4700 with parts.

this car is aprox me 95% done.  it runs and drives, engine does have small leaks and will probably need to be re gasket ed.

Interior._
New headliner, New carpet, door door panels, newer seats, new dash pad overlay.  complete will need visors.no radio

Exterior- Brand new PPG Guards red correct paint.  doors close proper, window crank up and down.
all lights work except right light turns out but wont pop up sounds like motor is not getting power.
Mechanical-  New Starter, throttle cable, rear wheel bearing, fuel pump, voltage regulator. New Sachs clutch and flywheel,
front end tie rods balls joints, steering rack boots, rebuilt front calipers, front wheel bearings, new front pads and rebuilt the rotors.
entire car ran new electric, including relays.

New Clutch about 200 miles.  trans is 4 spd gear box was told it was worth about 5k-6k because of the gears.
New front end had it aligned by very professional shop yesterday and drive straight down the road.
Tachometer doesn't work, hood latch is missing.  tires are monster 345 nittio in rear great shape.  front has 1 inch spacer will need 1/2 spacer to tuck wheels in nice.
Again there is still bit of work to do to finish but most of big stuff already done...Car is Head turner and the paint looks wet.  I just prefer muscle cars and corvettes.``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Clear IL title will deliver enclosed trailer up 500 miles for $1 a mile.

Auto journalist ordered to pay big money for blowing up Porsche 917 engine [UPDATE]

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

Racecars blow engines all the time, but a Porsche 917 isn't just a run-of-the-mill racecar. British automotive writer Mark Hales reportedly borrowed a 917 from 82-year-old former Formula One racer David Piper for a magazine article, and mechanical tragedy ensued. Nobody is arguing that the engine failed after being spun to 8,200 rpm. However, Hales was warned not to exceed 7,000 rpm, says owner Piper, and the affair landed in English courts with Piper seeking £50,000 - over $79,000 US - in reimbursement funds for an engine rebuild and loss of use of the car while it was being repaired. Judge Simon Brown ruled in favor of car owner Piper, putting Hales on the hook for £110,000 ($174,000) including legal fees - a whole lot of money in any language.
Hales says the Porsche suffered a mechanical fault while lapping that allowed it to slip out of gear and over-rev. Piper wasn't convinced, and sought to have the repair paid for by the guy who broke the racer, saying "If you bend it, you mend it." It's not like Hales is a novice driver, having seat time in both professional and amateur races over 30 years, notching about 150 wins, but even the best drivers sometimes miss a shift, and that's what Piper contended happened to his car.
According to reports, Hales has had to sell most of his valuables to pay his lawyers and is now facing bankruptcy with the ruling against him. Members of the Pistonheads website are trying to coordinate a collection to help him out, as well.

Porsche planning customer driving center at Le Mans

Fri, 29 Nov 2013

Porsche seems to be on a campaign to build driving centers for its customers to allow them to experience the capabilities of their cars on track. It has one under way in Los Angeles, another in development at its North American headquarters in Atlanta, and a British center set up at the Silverstone circuit. Now the latest reports indicate that Porsche is planning yet another driving center at Le Mans.
The new facility is earmarked to be built at the Circuit de la Sarthe right by the start/finish line, incorporating the Porsche Curves that bridge the Arnage corner and the Ford Chicanes on the West side of the famous track.
Porsche is reportedly still seeking approval from the Automobile Club de l'Ouest that manages the circuit, and once given the green light, would still take some time to complete. But the idea of driving a 911 flat out on the legendary track is likely to make more than a few mouths water, particularly as the German automaker prepares its full-on assault of the famous endurance race next year.

World Car of the Year finalists announced

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

To say the 2014 Geneva Motor Show was packed full of news is an understatement as big as the show's home at the Palexpo convention center. Despite everything that we were able to cover during this year's show, there's still more coming out of Switzerland, including the announcement of the finalists for the 2014 World Car of the Year Awards.
We reported on the original list of finalists over three weeks ago, and now, that initial list has been pared down to three finalists for each of the five awards. The finalists were announced at a press conference by frequent Autoblog contributor and co-chair of the awards, Matt Davis (above).
The finalists for the overall title of 2014 World Car of the Year are the Audi A3, the BMW 4 Series and the Mazda3. The World Luxury Car of the Year will be either the Bentley Flying Spur, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class or the Land Rover Range Rover Sport, while the Performance Car of the Year will be awarded to the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, the Ferrari 458 Speciale or the Porsche 911 GT3 (which, um, yeah...).
