Hello listing my 1988 porsche 944 Turbo, just bought this car for my son to drive when he is home for college, wife feels its a better idea to sell. The car was purchased from a gentleman  that has owned it from 1990 he is the second owner. Although he stated to me that he always mantained the car he had misplaced its service folder, he is moving out of the country. To be honest I have been looking for a decent 944 for awhile and this one is far better than most I have found. It has had one repaint ( very Nice job ) also has the usual stone chips on the header panel. The car has no modifications and shows extremely well, the negative on the interior is the drivers seat could use to be recovered and there is an issue with the electric adjuster to the seat. Also the sunroof does not work as well as the radio was disconnected not sure why I have not looked into any of the issues yet. Also do to the fact that the owner is not sure when the timing belt was last changed I would do it now to be safe. All power locks and windows work as well as A/C blows but could use a charge. Tires are in great shape with a lot of life left in them as well as all four rims are also in great condition. Drove it home about 50 miles and car drives great would be an excellent car with some minor sorting out. I am being very realalistic in the number I am looking for if I do not sell I have no problem keeping it and restoring.

Jack Olsen built one Porsche to do it all

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

Jack Olsen has built himself a lair called the 12-Gauge Garage, and inside that garage he built a lairy Porsche 911 nicknamed Black Beauty II. Although it looks like one of Stuttgart's models from the sixties or seventies, it is actually four decades of 911 gubbins from 1965 to 2000 thrown under one shell: the lightweight body is from 1972, the transaxle from 1977, the brakes from a 1986 Turbo, the engine from 1995, for example. It weighs 2,400 pounds and it's got 272 horsepower to get it going, but it's still a pure Porsche, Olsen saying, "If you stop thinking about what you're doing, it will remind you in very abrupt ways."
Olsen said the real point has been to have one car that does it all, so he does everything in his 911 from neighborhood runs to 7-11 to track racing - he loads the aero bits in the car and bolts them on trackside. And he says he'll never stop tweaking the suspension.
You can watch and hear the rest in Olsen's words in the video below.

Roger Rodas' widow suing Porsche over Carrera GT crash

Tue, 13 May 2014

Investigations undertaken by local law enforcement may have vindicated Porsche from any wrongdoing in the crash that killed actor Paul Walker and racing driver Roger Rodas last year, but the latter's widow is apparently not convinced. According to emerging reports, Kristine Rodas has filed a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages from Porsche Cars North America.
In her suit filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, Rodas' attorney Mark Geragos reportedly disputes the findings of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which asserted that the vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed of 90 miles per hour on city streets, identifying the speed as the cause of the accident. Instead the lawsuit claims that the vehicle was only going 55 mph and that the cause of the crash was improper equipment - namely a faulty right rear suspension and the lack of a crash cage and proper fuel tank.

Porsche to develop new line of engines for next Panamera

Sat, 22 Mar 2014

When the second generation of the four-door Porsche Panamera launches, it will likely be riding a new platform, complete with an all-new family of V6 and V8 engines, according to a report coming out of the UK.
Autocar reports that the so-called MSB platform will likely underpin the Panamera, and it could be shared with Bentley, provided the Volkswagen-owned, British-built brand commits to the architecture. As for the engines, it's reported that they'll have a sportier character than the V6s and V8s being built for Volkswagen and Audi's vehicles.
"Porsche will have its own new V8 that will be common to the new MSB platform," Porsche's chief engineer, Wolfgang Hatz, said. "It's a family for the next 10 years of cars." Whether the V8 and V6 will be used outside of the Panamera line, though, remains unclear. There's also no mention of what place turbocharging would have with the new engines.
